Welcome To Professional SEO
By Vic on Jun 4, 2008 in Video Tutorials
After yesterdays post and the total lack of people understanding what I was doing I felt I needed to make a quick why video including the how. Now I was going to make this keyword ranking tutorial anyway but not today I was going to do it this weekend and let the ranking settle down a bit to find out where I was with many related keyword terms to make money online. But unfortunately something that was supposed to be the simple got complicated with the classic SEO “expert” who comments and is totally fucking clueless to how real SEO is done in the make money online world. This has gotten some people confused so here is a quick why and how of SEO done by a real professional.
I MADE A MISTAKE ON THE VIDEO DO NOT DELETE THE ARTICLE DIRECTORIES THAT HAVE NO ON THE LOGIN DELETE THE ONES THAT HAVE NOTHING AND IS BLANK YOU WANT TO KEEP ONLY THE ONES THAT SAY LOGIN “YES” OR “NO” IF YOU HAVE NOT ENTERED THE LOGIN YET.

Awesome video Vic. Learned quite a few new things here today that I think can apply to the BANS sites that I have now. Got to get that few tools as soon as possible.
Good to see you around buddy. I hope in some way it does help.
Maybe it’s just me, but nothing is happening when I attempt to play this. I see the little position bar move, but no sound, no video.
No wait, there is video, but no sound.
Its on your side
So, are you saying you would like some “Easy Ways To Make Money” anchored links?
Dear friend I just love you!!!! I was last night looking for an old post on the markov tool which BTW I could not find and sure enough I saw it on the sidebar I almost fell of my chair laughing.
Thank You Frank
Vic
Hi Vic:
Did you delete the video you’re referring to here?
I went to your home page, and saw the “Make Money Online” video, but the date on it is January 2, 2008, and it doesn’t seem to be the one you’re talking about in the “Welcome to Professional SEO” video.
Did you make the mistake of naming two posts exactly the same thing?
This has been a problem I’ve encountered in the past.
Time Stamp
Thanks for that video Vic, I picked up some good tips from it too.
So now you’re concentrating all your efforts to ranking in MMO, does that mean all the other niches are open season for the rest of us LMAO!!!
hehehe…
You’re as high as number 9 on some data centers today for the new title.
Nice Vic.
http://www.google.pt/search?hl.....&meta=
I think with some small link building it should place me solid in the front page I hope to have some time next week. Thanks Grizz something about having an anchor from a front page site mmm sure fucking helps a ton LMAO!!!
I’m confused, I thought that there was no money in the MMO niche, so why are you working it so hard?
Nick,
Vic has just outlined the process I use - I have managed to get on the first page for about 50 of those long tails and main keywords that he showed in the video. None pay that much alone but 50 of them bring in pretty decent adsense income and if I was targeting affiliate sales I would be adding a few more dollars to the pot as well. Compared to my high traffic niches the MMO niche is not very profitable but can still produce if you target enough keywords.
If I was to start over I probably wouldn’t bother but Vic has found himself placing well in the serp’s almost un - expectantly (it has happened fast and he hasn’t really targeted it other than the basics) and it makes sense to take his authority and use it to rank for all the relevant keywords he can. Given what his blog is about this will get the word out faster than word of mouth and to a very targeted audience that could benefit from BU.
The real advantage to ranking well in this niche is the indirect revenue that can be made. A top ranked MMO site can quickly boost other sites like “make money with real estate” or “make money with credit cards” etc. The point is that it is a good niche to branch out with. I have used it to drive a pretty decent amount of traffic for “payday loans” - a niche with a high Adsense CPC.
I would never advise someone to target the MMO niche simply because it is a huge amount of work and you are competing with some of the most experienced marketers online. However if you know what you are doing and have the patience then go for it. Most IMer’s don’t have the resources though and find that there isn’t a lot of money in it and simply give up after ranking for just a few terms. Like most niches you have to dominate the “whole” niche and not just a few keywords to make a decent return on your time and effort.
Grizz, Nick is just way to sharp for me so do not try to hide the scam I am running here, he has caught on very quick.
Why are you going there? I don’t believe that I implied that, or that I ever even though anything like that. I was just curious why you were going after it after saying it’s a waste of time. But Grizz has cleared this up, I just was looking at things through a limited view point.
Nick you are way to fast for me I sure can not pass one by you. I am looking to retire with the huge amount of money I am about to make with this site especially in Adsense. Let’s see:
Adwords CPC
make money online $2.56 - $3.20
easy ways to make money $2.58 - $3.22
dui attorney california $22.68 - $28.42
dui lawyer california $35.70 - $45.51
Again Nick you caught me in my scam like I said man you are way to sharp for me! Imagine the only person that caught my scam was you.
LMAO!!!!
Vic I wasn’t saying anything like that. I’ve been through your site and have just heard you say 100 times that the MMO niche is a waste of time. But, my view was short sighted, because if you are within the first three pages of Make money online, make money online blogging, and MMO vlogging, then the rules for that change a little bit. No one was calling you a scammer, nothing like that even crossed my mind, I was just curious, but my point of view was limited when I wrote that.
Nick one of the principles that I have mentioned here hundreds of times also about the MMO niche is that the person that starts one has to have experience actually “Making Money Online” which in this case of 99% of the “MMO” bloggers have not. By default this blog sooner or later would be successful because I actually make money online.
I try to tell and teach people that if they want to go the secure way to work niches and keywords with a need because it is a totally guaranteed way to have success it is not dependable on the actual skill set of the blogger but mostly based on technical knowledge that is easy duplicatable with hard work as we can all agree link building is tedious and a pain in the ass.
I will now with my spare time work the link building part of this blog just to make the point of what I teach as I plan to leave this blog here for future folks to find and use the info once I leave the MMO game. SO it would be beneficial for people to find this blog and Grizz and Court before they find some shit blog that is based on leaching of people instead of actually teaching them how to make money.
People tell me I should take a chill pill because I scold when I answer comments, I would love for you folks to be in my situation where this blog cost me money instead of making and see how would you folks react to the comments.
I think one day this blog will be a huge resource for the new person coming into this game as such I how to leave it as visible as possible for organic traffic this is the main goal for actually working the terms.
Vic, I didn’t feel like you were scolding me at all. I’m a grown man, you aren’t going to hurt my feelings. I just didn’t want you to get the wrong impression of what I was saying, only reason I responded. I asked a stupid question, it was 5:30 AM, I wasn’t looking at the big picture. My bad, I apologize for my brief spell of ignorance.
Nick it is all good
Now trying to get rid on trojan.vundu and it is kicking my ass LMAO!!!
I had to deal with vundo recently. McAfee couldn’t remove it, Symantec Norton couldn’t. Only Lavasoft AdAware removed it from over 500 infected files, with just 2 scans.
I thought the same thing once, but every IM needs an official flagship blog imo. Vic’s name carries more weight with affiliates and other marketers because of his rankings.
Granted, there is no Adsense money in MMO, but that shouldn’t translate into “there is no money in MMO”. There is tons of money in make money online imo, but its indirect money. Its not all about the sales this site generates, but about the opportunities and sales that open because of this site.
Vic could chose to move into other areas after BU and would have an easier time because of the following he has built on BU. He gets pitched products and affiliate programs before the mass public gets to hear about them. Stuff like that is invaluable.
If Vic weighs in on a product or service now, his voice carries a lot more weight than the unknown internet marketer. That type of authority can be leveraged to make good money.
Justin awesome point which is crazy cuz never really though about it when I started this blog but one of the huge benefits has been the networking it has provide it to me with the big boys in affiliate companies hence kind of get better treatment in resolving stuff for me. It’s crazy cuz you would think that the person that makes the most money for them would be the best treated but I think now they worry more about the person that can talk to a captive audience for good or bad about the company so I think you have made a great point.
Also like Grizz said if I was looking to market my services for SEO example this blog would be a grat example of course not in my business model but If I wanted it would be an option.
But said hundreds of times and will keep repeating man the number one benefit of this blog is Karma!
Oh, and I took some notes out of your book the other day. I singled out the biggest baddest photographer in my town for having hidden text. Someone submitted my link to our local email list with all the big name web guys in my town. Within 1 hour I had 200 web people from my town crawling all over my site =P
I caught a TON of hell for singling him out and was called an arrogant ass. I backed off some to make nice (since I have to see these people in real life), but in 24 hours I went from unknown to known to every major web designer in my town =)
Was an email form of link bait. I think the email discussion is more than 100 emails at this point, all for my little 1 month old site.
This is a nice tutorial on SEO. I have the term “easy way to make money” as one of my keywords on another blog, but obviously I haven’t any keyword authority.
Here in Michigan for make money online I show you in position 13 this morning. The SEO change has not seemed to move you up yet.
Are you and Grizz going to be competing with each other for the make money term? Grizz is currently #3 in my data base for make money online. Even after not posting for over a month Grizz has moved up in Google.
Hope you and Grizz have fun with this while making money at the same time.
Not really competing most of the organic traffic that this site has received for MMO keywords has come from Grizz. The stronger my authority becomes the stronger the authority for Grizz will become same thing for Court I have never anchored the keyword “Internet Marketing” but this is Court’s main keyword now I made an article run with the term just to provide stronger juice for Court, I am not looking to rank for the term but indeed help Court rank it to position one.
I see! That is really a cool way to help each other out in the make money niches and gain at the same time. I am going to have to keep doing what I have been doing lately on my blog then and focus more on the SEO aspects of it.
I am not looking to moneitize my make money online blog, but if I can gain keyword authority with these terms and some SEO then I can use this blog for future backlinks on the make money niches.
I do have some questions on my make money online blog but I will be asking those later. These last two posts really have awakened me on some key elements that I have been missing. Thanks Vic and Grizz!
Plus having an MMO to support your network is huge I will talk about this to you guys in the contest.
From my perspective I have been waiting for Vic to reach page 1. The competition on the first two pages consists of several mini - networks who are all linking together. As Vic mentioned having my link has boosted him and he is now boosting me which will help us both immensely. What we need is two or three other “friends” on the page and then the competition will have a tough time knocking us out. Till now I have been competing against a group of six front page sites that are all linked together.
In Court’s case both Vic and I are now trying to rank for Internet Marketing in order to get three of us dominating that niche as well. A few more friends wouldn’t hurt in that niche either. My plan and I’m sure Vic has thought of this as well is to eventually target the SEO niche which I believe can be a pretty decent money maker on its own. If you dominate that one you can charge a hefty consultation fee and you have already proved you know what you are doing just by your own ranking.
And there you have all our (ok maybe just mine) evil plans laid out - anyone care to join in, the more the merrier. lol
Btw… I know Vic said he wasn’t planning on targeting “Internet Marketing” but that was my subtle hint that I think he should…
The plan sounds great had not though about it but I am in. I promise as soon as I catch up on my network I will work “Internet Marketing” I think it would be awesome to work later SEO related just to prove the point.
hey Vic,
I have been following your posts for the last 2months. You are awesome man.
I bought BANS. I am checking your posts on the topic. Please post more videos on BANS for newbies like me.
thanks for the awesome work you are doing. Your protege Justin is also going strong. great.
Roger very important remember that BANS is just monetization the same research and techniques that apply to every other niche apply but I will keep making BANS example tutorials.
Ok now, I’m putting up the same question/comment on Court’s, Vic’s, and Griz’s websites. I’m hoping to get an answer from them personally or from the (vibrant) community on these websites.
Fist of all let me say that I run a personal finance blog and totally got off on the wrong foot when it comes to monetization. Vic would probably call me a dumbfuck but hey I’ll take it. I deserve it and let’s face it, he’s got the goods. So slowly but surely I’ve been correcting stuff and averaging a healthy 3% CTR in spite of it all.
I have been testing the waters when it comes to article runs but I have this one big question. On my blog I can branch into many different topics, like credit, insurance, loans, investing, retirement, and so on. I have been lucky with a few long tail keywords and could definitely do a bit of keyword sniping to rank higher.
I see that when Vic’s does his article runs, he links all his anchor text to his home page. I was wondering if in my case it would make sense to do the same or link my anchor to the specific post that is related to it. That is, instead of linking anchor text “401K” to my home page, would it be better or not to link it to a 401k post. I was thinking that linking to a specific article on my website would make that specific post show up in the SERP and not my homepage. It would then take the reader directly to the post he did the search for and not to my homepage, which at the time of the search might have an article he’s really not interested in.
Thank you in advance. And of course, constructive criticism is welcome!
Yes, its better to link the keywords to the specific page you’ve set up to target for the keyword. This improves your deep linking too which has a bonus effect on your authority. When anchoring your home page, use your primary keywords. For the other links, deep link to specific articles.
The pages you anchor depends on what you’re working. Right now Vic is trying to solidify his ranking for MMO. So, he’s working MMO for his index. Not too far back he was working Free BANS Template, so when he did article runs it was to focus more on those keywords.
So, he might not even link to his home page on some runs. He could work “Free BANS Template” “BANS Tutorial” and “BMD Tutorial” or something like that all in one run.
I hope that helps.
Will,
Just wanted to let you know that in this tutorial Vic shows how he enters 3 anchored links for each website, one for his index and two others for other pages. That is how he does article submissions. 3 links, 1 to the home page and the other 2 are deep links. So watch video again, you can see how he shows us to do deep linking.
Hi Vic,
Great information You have here I must say. I have one question about link building though. For every post I create I submit it with BMDemon only to around 50 scuttle sites, I tag it with about 30 tags, vary anchor text but I am getting feeling that it might be too much with these tags. Wouldn’t it be better, if I tag it with only 10 tags for example? I am worrying about building backlinks too fast penalty. I will appreciate your thoughts about this matter.
Thanks
Just wanted to say congratulations Vic for making it to the first page for make money online.
To go along with what Antonio said; Congrats!
I just saw you were on page 1 of Google for Make Money online with Grizz. Looks like your SEO methods worked.
For all the nah -sayers, listen to Vic! His SEO methods only took him 6 months for this achievement.
I could not be happier for you. WhiteHat Seo does pay off!
