Today while doing keyword research for one of my BANS upgrade sites I had something really cool happen and finally had the perfect keyword research example to make a Keyword Elite and SEO Elite video tutorial that I could keep really basic and I would not confuse you folks more then many of you already are with keyword selection and using Keyword Elite and SEO Elite. Dave it was funny when the keyword pop-up it came auto to my mind our conversation and my need to make a tutorial that would not confuse more and instead give the perfect view of starting to use KE and SE to maximize its amazing potential. I really hope I explained it as simple as I could and I did not confuse people.

Dave I know man the vids from Brad kind of focus on shit we do not do plus they are like way fucking outdated if you look at the interface it does not even match what we look at when we turn it on so imagine how a person feels when they look at the vid tutorial and the option do not even match.

There is something that i didn’t get. When selecting keywords. How do we know how many searches there are for the keywords we pick. Does Keyword Elite give us that info? Some similar long tail keywords might be searched much more than others, even if they have the same competition.
Gus when I passed to the second report in the vid where you see me copy and paste the keywords I talk about the traffic and show it to you with my mouse. Go to the tutorial to minute 6:49 and you will see the searches for the 2 keywords

I can see how new users can get overloaded when they are first using such powerful tools as SE and KE. You sold me on these two pieces of software. I’ll be purchasing them today.
I noticed you have the program StumbleBot. I just went to that site and it looks pretty cool. Do you recommend this product as well? Do you stumble each of the BANS sites?

Gerad StumbleBot is a way cool tool to play with but man the traffic as you should know by now I am a tool guy LMAO!! If there is a tool that can give me a competitive advantage I invest immediately. Now when I bought StumbleBot it took me almost a week to figure it out once I did it took me another week to make sufficient accounts and make the accounts look legit enough to game Stumble Upon I was able to game about 20k plus unique hits and only made from that traffic around 300 dollars so in my opinion it is not worth it it just proved my point that Stumble Upon is a really cool service to have fun with but for what we do Stumble Upon traffic is worthless so your investment is better serve in pre-owned domains. If I am able to figure out a way to monetize that type of traffic where it is worth it I promise I will make a video and let you folks in the tactic

LMAO Frank that is probably more then she ever has made from all the months of networking in Stumble Upon and now she has a course where she will charge how to spend a year networking in SU to probably make a grand total of 200 dollars LMAO!!!

2 powerful programs and your timing was great for me. I found 3 keywords with 500-700 searches a month. 2 of them had only 1 anchor and the third one, zero.

Steve I am so sorry dear friend to have taken so long to make the vid but man the last thing I wanted to do was open up a can of worms and confuse you folks even more then Brad already has done with his outdated tutorials man I love Brad’s work but he needs to seriously update his video tutorials to reflect the software we use today.

Guys, I made a very big $1.74 a few days ago on 5 winning bids from 1 Ban(old and pre-owned). It was my first and it took 15-20 days for that. Now, I did it before I understood the 3 keywords that Vic was talking about. In time, it and my other BANS will make me money. I just need to be patient.
Vic: Do you suggest to create a banner or come back later and then add the top banner? I think it look less professional but I could do more BANS(indexed faster too) but they will convert less without the banner.
I think I’m going without banner for now but what’s your experience with that.(if you have a minute)
Steve make one theme that will be your setup theme with the small header and even the tittle not like mine where is just the logo image and make it a neutral color that way you can do your full setups to get the sites up they do not look like a normal new BANS setup but still no hassle for speed then come back later and fine tune the site I think Steve for us when we buy domains man it is to get those sites up as fast as possible to start the aging process we can always comes back and fix or fine tune. Steve if your css is not that hot man let me know because I can make a quick theme with the short header on a neutral color with the title and url this way you folks can build up faster and not have the plain Jane new BANS site feel and look.
I already started to modify the default theme(removed the Sponsored Links). I will take the time to change it more so it does not look like a plain Jane BANS site. I will play with the CSS and header too. I need to learn more of that stuff anyways

Mark I explained it on a past vlog post that SEOQuake is a great Firefox addon but it is not really in the same niche of type of software and I still think what I said on the video everybody should have that addon on because when you are working and do a regular search on Google it is great to have basic info right in front of your eyes and maybe it gives you a look at a possible niche you where not working on and then open up KE and SE to do the real research.
Right now I am up the creek with out a pattle I got way exited with Firefox 3 and upgraded and no addons work I downgraded and now none of the addons activate LMAO!!!!! So I tried to go back to FIrefox 3 and mmmm nope so I have no idea what the hell I am goign to do I have unsinstalled it like 20 times and re-installed and I can not fix it so I am waiting to finish tons of things I need to do and I am considering a full os re-install just because of browser issues is that idiotic or what mmm unless some one reads this and points me in the right direction cuz as of now I am stumped

I like the cheap paintball BANS site I ran across while doing some searching at lunch that was plastered with Adsense. Another one had Adsense also plus just about as many affiliate offers as eBay products.

Awesome Vic! This vid was at just the right pace for me. I like the way you concentrated on just the basics of the software. I think it’s really really beneficial for all of us to just watch you actually do the research. We watch you think out loud and it really makes it clear.
I always use to look more at the KEI but you skip right over that and go right to the competition and check the anchor for your keyword. That’s a cool way to do. Love it man.

Don just make sure you stay to the basics like in my tutorial and keep building on that I will also keep making tutorials to keep building you folks and one day you will master it trust me my first weeks with the soft I really did not even understand where to start.
I rarely run the soft on my main pc I have it installed for quick hits and now for the tutorials most of the time I run them on my second work PC because it brings down my CPU and PC bandwith slows the heck out of my work.

Vic, I do not have KE yet but I am using Niche Inspector (I believe Elliott uses this tool too)but it definitely explains you keyword selection and how to proceed with SEO Elite which I do have.
This was a huge help in choosing a keyword for BANS. The analysis view was a real help.
Oh I got the day off tomorrow. A 3 day weekend to build BANS sites. I am so excited!

Yeah I have not used it for a while I also own it and it is ok as a keyword extractor. Remember the important thing is to build up as quick as possible you can always come back and make adjustments.

You always check eBay after you check out your keywords to make sure there are product for that keyword string?
I just did a check on a string and no products popped up.
If it is a product I check ebay first if it is a service no I go straight to other affiliates or adsense.
Hey Vic, cool vid, SEO Elite should have you as a sales rep cause is makes much more sense:). One question, i see that it seems to pull the projected searches from the wordtracker free tool (same as http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ ?) have you found this to be accurate? Thing is ive used wordze and a few others before and found them way off the mark on search volume for some niches.

On the vid you see I check mark Google Keyword Tool, Yahoo and Free KT it is just an overview if it is 50% near real results it is good to me I really do not care how exact it is. I will work a buying keyword that has 10 searches a month if I can easily take over position one better 10 uniques that are looking to buy then 500k that are just looking

Awesome. I tried putting the domains on SEO Elite, but some of them are 5years old and doesn’t appear to have backlinks on them. Is this real? How will I know if these are good domains?

if this is zero, theres a good chance xyz.com doesn’t have any backlinks - not 100% but another verification.

Marjorie it is exactly what you said everything we do we can do manual but the hours it can take and even then we miss stuff with software like KE and SE we miss less things and it is minutes instead of hours watch real soon you will have made money from your BANS network and you can buy SE, KE and a good assortment of pre-owned domains to take it to the next level
Hope so. Got about 55 sites up as of today. Still not a lot of traffic or conversions, but I am starting to see rankings on a few of my KW. Still too early to HUGE results. Can’t wait for the holiday bonus though!
Just give it time once you have all the sites up then go back and keep adding keywords to your sites

Alright, I broke down and got SE and KE. I love them both, but they are such huge resource hogs! Any tips on getting them to speed up at all? I even let them run overnight and it looks like they’re stuck at around 84%.
Rich man I have not found a way to overcome that I even mentioned it on a few of my tutorials videos as you said they are just must have tools but man huge resource hogs and now in my case Rich it has gotten worst I guess because I am using the Google API so much the last week has been fucking horrible I have to enter cptchas all the time so I can not leave it running over night like I use to.
I’m going to have to seriously change the options I choose in the queries, because this is just ridiculous. I guess I really need to lower the results amount and uncheck everything but Google and Free WT.
I did also and lower the total results cuz the captchas are kicking my ass notw if it is an adsense niche with 50 dollar clicks fuck it I will enter capchas all week LMAO!!!!

Damn. I watched the K.E. video tutorial and the guy said to go after highest searched, lowest results keywords with big KEI numbers.
That’s how Ive been building my sites so far.
Should I go back and fix them?
Steven, KEI is a good general indication of keyword effectiveness but it doesn’t tell you the most critical thing which is…are your competitors actually targeting that keyword. Specifically with their anchored links. Example, you might see that a certain keyword has a very low KEI but when you put the top ranking sites in SEO Elite, you might find that they are not actually working that specific KW. Or you might see that a PR6 site is ranking for your term but they are not actually working the term with their links. So you can actually out rank them by targeting that one anchor.
Shit, sometimes the KEI is great and there is only one other guy ranking for your term. But this guy has like thousands of anchored links and is actually working the term.

There used to be a number of tools said to gauge how “easy” it would be to rank for a specific term. One of the shortcomings was that terms like “Yellow pages” have very few competitors…but the ones that WERE there happened to be pretty solid.
As Chas has said so well just leave it alone and build for targeted traffic always remember traffic for the sake of traffic just makes no sense you want traffic that converts
Better yet, build more sites with a different keyword strategy and see if they do better. IF they do then go back someday.
