Vic - how will we be able to get the live chat? I’ve never participated in one of them before so naturally I’m curious.

  6. Diane on 15.09.2008 at 19:41 (Reply)

    Hello All,
Ike blew through my town on Sunday afternoon and most of us are without power. I have come to one of our libraries to join the academy. Now I see that my plan did not work because it is not launching at 4pm EST? We will not have power until Saturday. If I can find a gas station that has electricity and gas, and can fill my tank, then I will be able to come back to this library tomorrow. Please leave clear instructions in printed form so I can read what to do. Even then I am not sure if it is going to work as sometimes libraries do not allow commerce at their internet stations.

I am trying to find a friend with electricity and a computer that is working with internet but so far no luck.

It is 3:45 pm EST as I post this message. Is Justin okay?

    1. Denise on 15.09.2008 at 20:12 (Reply)

Diane, If I can help at all please let me know! I am about eight hours from you in Michigan, but you and your family are more than welcome to stay the week.

I have a large old haunted house that is empty most all day and plenty of room to flop.

The storm hit us hard too and we had a few tornadoes touch down but we were lucky only to get the rain here.

Contact me through Vic if I can help! Or contact me through my website.

      1. Diane on 15.09.2008 at 20:26 (Reply)

Thanks Denise..we will be fine as we do have water and a telephone. Thanks and do take care.

        1. Vic on 15.09.2008 at 21:26 (Reply)

Diane hun you are family pls do not worry if something happens and you miss the window we are working hard to nail these few bugs left to be able to launch.

Vic that is so sweet of you to think of me. Power is back and I did get back to that library the next day and joined within your original 24hr window of opportunity. Hope you are having a grand time in Vegas. I am spending time listening to your audio at the academy and getting familiar with how it is set up. Very wonderful site.

    2. John Doe on 15.09.2008 at 20:18 (Reply)

      @Diane

Don’t take this the wrong way but you really need to get your perspective right in life. Get a grip on yourself and take care of your family or yourself at a time like this.

Your post here shows an incredible lack of self awareness or is a get some attention post.

No power and god knows what else ike must have thrown your way is far more important than an academy.

Oh and I could not help this one. I’m surprised you did not add the line about getting links while you are browsing at the library.

      1. Diane on 15.09.2008 at 20:28 (Reply)

        John Doe,
        Words escape me…

        1. Andy Levy-Stevenson on 15.09.2008 at 20:33 (Reply)

I’ve got a few words for him, but I’d prefer to stay family-friendly.

Denise - drop Vic an email explaining that you may have difficulty signing up during this launch window, we’ll be sure to tell him to look for it, and I’m certain he’ll come through for you.

          Take care.

          1. lissie on 15.09.2008 at 23:21 (Reply) (Comments won't nest below this level)

Exactly - what is it with people who think they can judge others on the internet! Fuck if the power was out at home I’d be on the internet in a comfortable library too! Ive been thru wild weather but never lost power for more than an hour or 2 but I don’t live where the hurricanes do - I guess you get used to it!

          2. Diane on 21.09.2008 at 04:51 (Reply)

Lissie, it beats me how someone can say those things when they don’t really know the situation. It was a bit unsettling, but I sure do appreciate you and others coming to my defense. Me and my family are fine, we have power again, I have joined the academy, and all is well for us. In Cincinnati tens of thousands still await the return of electricity to their homes. We are lucky.

          3. Diane on 21.09.2008 at 04:42 (Reply) (Comments won't nest below this level)

Andy, thanks a bunch. Power is back and I have joined the academy.

    3. Don on 15.09.2008 at 22:50 (Reply)

Justin is fine , talked to him today , returning home tomorrow

      1. Diane on 21.09.2008 at 04:49 (Reply)

Don, thanks, and glad to know Justin is fine. See you at the Academy.

  7. Sami Laakkonen on 15.09.2008 at 19:58 (Reply)

This guy here is ready for the academy!

Just bought BMD, Keyword Elite AND SEO Elite. Also joined to the Private Label Chest site at the launch date so I’m so ready for this academy and start learning how to use my new tools the best way :D

Now I think I have invested enough money to success in this online business and I’m more than serious in succeeding in it ;) All my BANS sites are deindexed from Google and would like to hear Vic’s best recommendations to get them back in the search results.

  8. BeauFla on 15.09.2008 at 20:57 (Reply)

    @JohnDoe

You make a huge assumption that Diane has not already secured her family. You make a huge assumption that Diane was in the primary path of distruction of IKE.

As someone that has lives in Florida and has survived many many hurricanes I can assure you that if Diane was in an area where there was heavy hurricane damage she would have other things to worry about than the academy.

I do not know where you are from, but just because the power is out does not mean she is in an area that was devastated by the hurricane.

Your comments are highly judgmental. You should be more introspective with yourself a figure out why you need to attack someone that has not done any harm to you. Do you feel so poorly about yourself that you have to displace your foibles and problems onto someone else.

You obviously do not have the courage of conviction about what you are saying or you would not use the completely spineless moniker of “JohnDoe.”

If you were really concerned about Diane you would have offered to help her by maybe offering to post the information she needed or by maybe offering to takes notes for her at the chat.

But, instead you chastised and criticized her. Was that helpful? I think not. I would be willing to bet that this is the way you treat other people in your life. How is that working out for you.

Diane sorry for your troubles. Please let me know if I can help. If I am able to, i will!

    Beau

    1. Diane on 21.09.2008 at 04:47 (Reply)

BeauFla, thank you so much for your defense of my decision-making abilities. When I left the library Wednesday I was just shaking my head in disbelief at John Doe’s comments. I had no time for a complete response. Thank you for making it on my behalf. Power is back at our home and we are all fine. Many fine neighbors had us over for dinner, gave us all the ice they had in their freezers, and one neighbor even ran an extension cord out through his backyard and into our kitchen, so we plugged in our refrigerator, one lamp, and an electric skillet. We felt like we were in a five star hotel with all that luxury. We always had water, both hot and cold, and were actually quite comfortable in many ways. The kids loved reading their bedtime stories by candlelight and flashlight. Lots of good things came out of the windstorm.

See you at the academy, where John Doe lurks somewhere, and I will always wonder who it is. But, I won’t dwell on it. As Vic says, don’t dwell on things you have no control over.

  9. isse on 15.09.2008 at 21:48 (Reply)

Vic. Will it be recorded? I will not be at my pc that time. We’ll for the first half that is.

  10. Heron on 15.09.2008 at 22:24 (Reply)

    Hi isse

Vic has confirmed the chats etc will be recorded for others to watch when they can.

    Cheers

  11. chris digital products on 15.09.2008 at 22:29 (Reply)

SO the live chat will be at the academy? And the academy has not open yet right?

So first we have to sign up…that could take a while huh?

I think I got it though.

  12. Frank C on 15.09.2008 at 22:32 (Reply)

    Vic,

You have to be “Web 2.0″. Go ahead and launch but called it a ‘Beta’. :)

    1. Vic on 15.09.2008 at 22:44 (Reply)

LMAO!!!! I love it and yes indeed if anything breaks hey we are in beta! Hopefully will be live in an hour or so.

  13. Willdini on 15.09.2008 at 22:37 (Reply)

    Hey Vic,

Just wanna make sure you are still on for tonights live chat. Im gonna leave work early if you are, but if you’re not, could you update around 10pm et, so I will know whether or not I should stay at work. I know you are super busy and will understand if you dont respond. If all else fails, I will take my chances. Thanks Vic.

    Will

    1. Vic on 15.09.2008 at 22:43 (Reply)

Yes we are on for tonight at 11pm eastern I think will be launching in about an hour like Frank said will go beta LMAO!!

  14. D on 15.09.2008 at 23:09 (Reply)

I sneaked out of bed to sign up, it’s 10 past 12 here in London, England and my wife thinks I’m having an online affair with a girl called Vicki!

    Cheers,

    D.

    1. lissie on 15.09.2008 at 23:13 (Reply)

Oh thats bad Don - at least my partner is at work and hasn’t caught onto the level of internet dating yet!

  15. lissie on 15.09.2008 at 23:12 (Reply)

LOL well I pleased I didnt get up at 4am local time! Vic you are a perfectionist and an optimist - its a really bad combination around software launches! People like you are why I don’t work in corporate IT anymore LOL! Like Frank says - go beta - thank people for their testing - apologise afterwards!

  16. copelandc2002 on 15.09.2008 at 23:46 (Reply)

No worries Vic, I’m kind of in Justin’s boat man except I’m a little closer to the coast than him. We got hit pretty good by Ike but the cleanup arouund the house is done now, got power back, just no internet, found out my neighbor had it so I had to come check. Sitting in the backyard “borrowing” some wireless right now. Guess I’ll come back on later and see for the launch man. I’m excited!!

  17. John84 on 16.09.2008 at 01:04 (Reply)

Reading through the comments on this post, it’s hard not to see that a ‘Blogger Unleashed’ family has be created among it’s readers. Not only does everyone know everyone, but everyone is willing to stick up for one another as well. Hopefully this ‘community’ stays the same within the academy. Just consider me a Canadian cousin :)

  18. D on 16.09.2008 at 01:05 (Reply)
