Bookmarking Demon Review and Tutorial

This Bookmarking Demon tutorial does not cover the whole process and use of Bookmarking Demon instead I focused on the most important parts of Bookmarking Demon. It is crucial you understand how to use Bookmarking Demon correctly to get the full benefit from it.

If you are here, I’m assuming you know what social bookmarking is and I bet you are trying to promote your site but in order to do that you need the correct way to do it.

Bookmarking Demon is a professional, spam-free tool for submitting your bookmarks which will save you a lot of headache and free up your valuable time to do other things.

What will Bookmarking Demon do for you:

  • Skyrocket your inbound links and traffic in a matter of days, not weeks or months like conventional traffic methods.
  • You only have to enter your information once and it automatically creates accounts at the top bookmarking sites for you.
  • Sits on your Windows computer and submits your links automatically to over 20 of the top social bookmarking sites on the web.
  • Saves you hundreds of hours by ticking away automatically in the background while you do other things or spend time on things you enjoy the most
  • The software is updated monthly to keep your copy of bookmarking demon current so it will always work perfectly, no matter how many times the social bookmarking sites change their rules.
  • In a social bookmarking system, users save links to web pages that they want to remember and/or share. These bookmarks are usually public, and can be saved privately, shared only with specified people or groups, shared only inside certain networks, or another combination of public and private domains. The allowed people can usually view these bookmarks chronologically, by category or tags, or via a search engine.

Most social bookmark services encourage users to organize their bookmarks with informal tags instead of the traditional browser-based system of folders, although some services feature categories/folders or a combination of folders and tags. They also enable viewing bookmarks associated with a chosen tag, and include information about the number of users who have bookmarked them. Some social bookmarking services also draw inferences from the relationship of tags to create clusters of tags or bookmarks.

    Scuttle

Web-based social bookmarking system. Allows multiple users to store, share and tag their favourite links online.

Oh Boy, I did not realize there were more to it than the tutorial I read when i bought the copy. Normally, I just enter the URL and Bookmark away without a care in the world.

      Hey Vic,

Thank you very much for the tutorial on bookmarking demon. I am glad to know that I have been using it correctly. I think that your readers should know that you have to create new accounts every time you do a run. I was making this mistake.

One question for me: Have you had problems finding scuttle sites lately? When I do searches for them and register on 2-3 are successful now.

I get ones coming up saying that they are unsuccessful but when I actually check some of them they are Ok.

      2. Vic on 13.03.2008 at 17:02 (Reply)

Fred to be hones I really do not even pay attention to it I ussually get about ten sites at a time working but one pass is 200 links per url so I really do not care that much about it.

    3. Home Improvement DIY on 13.03.2008 at 12:05 (Reply)

Vic, general question about link building.. Do you ever outsource? There are so many companies offering to submit your sites to web directories for the likes of $10 for 100 submissions.

      1. Vic on 13.03.2008 at 17:03 (Reply)

Never I do all myself I am to paranoid to trust my links on some other person.

New version of Bookmarking Demon came out today with so many bugs it’s almost unusable.

      1. Vic on 13.03.2008 at 17:55 (Reply)

Strange I am running right now 4 computers as soon as they finish I will download the new version and install to find out what is up.

        1. Rob on 13.03.2008 at 18:16 (Reply)

I’ve played around with it some more and it seems that searching for scuttles doesn’t work as well as registering for scuttle sites fails on all.

Also when you create accounts the login and passwords are not saved for any on they fixed or newly added bookmarking sites. It’s seems to be creating the accounts just not saving the info.

There are some issues with is, but I completely uninstalled the old version, and installed the new one and haven’t seen any issues yet…

If only this video is out much earlier. I wish i had known that i need to hide my urls with some other totally unrelated ones. Some of my sites cant get through to mister wong now due to them being marked as spam. In your experience, is there any way they will get out of the system, say, maybe after some time? Thanks for all the tips.

      1. Vic on 13.03.2008 at 17:56 (Reply)

Wait a few months and ask for a reinclusion. But at the end of the day do not worry much you still got the others just make sure you start hiding them now.

      2. Home Improvement DIY on 13.03.2008 at 17:59 (Reply)

I have in the past but the problem seems to have gone away. Although I don’t really check. Another tip is that with bibsonomy you should go into your account and make it public. It’s automatically set to private.

      Vic,

Great video man! I recently stated using BMD as well and this was perfect timing for me.

Looking forward to your next video.

      Regards,
      Chris

Chris welcome and I am glad it was helpful.

More great information OH MY! You are really kicking out some top notch info in the past two days on these videos. Not that the information wasn’t great before, but this really is mind blowing.

Just got another e-mail from BMD that they are working on fixing all the bugs. They will be updating shortly.

      1. Vic on 14.03.2008 at 02:15 (Reply)

Denise I am so happy the info is turning out to be helpful.

And thank you so much for the update on BMD my computers are still on a run since yesterday and have not updated so hopefully when they finish I can update and get them back running again.

      Vic-
Seems like there would be benefit from all of us banding together and putting each other’s sites/posts as the “extra” fluff posts (instead of McAfee & Dish Networks) when we use Bookmarking Demon.

I am in real estate, so I would have no issue bookmarking you or one of your readers pages. Better than McAfee getting it!

Vic, how do you do just a scuttle run, without the sites like magnolia etc? I can’t seem to start a run without including the other ‘legit sites’ in the run.

      1. DayJobNuker on 17.03.2008 at 08:27 (Reply)

Leave the legit sites empty. In other words clear the data for the legit sites and just have the scuttle site data loaded.

        1. YC on 17.03.2008 at 09:47 (Reply)

Thanks Bruce I actually did that and nothing seemed to run - the scuttle sites were not bookmarking etc was wondering if it was just me until I found more bugs not listed in their updates, so contacted support. They’ve just gotten back to me with v3.6, trying that out now. Thanks man!

    11. Martin on 26.03.2008 at 09:42 (Reply)

      Hi,

I have the same problem that YC has. I can’t do a Scuttle only run in Bookmarking Demon. The “legit” sites have no login information but the run ends with a blank report window.

I tried the button Disable All Drivers which does not seem to work as well because all drivers remain active.

would really appreciate any help I can get.

      1. YC on 26.03.2008 at 14:20 (Reply)

Hey Martin I hate to say this but I was a dumbfuck and when I had updated the s/w with the new updates, it defaulted the ‘Enabled Multiscuttle’ option to blank again under the Scuttle tab. I’m not sure if yours is the same - pls check and select that option if you want to include scuttles in the runs. :)

Also, if you only want scuttle sites in the run, remove all the legit sites’ login info, do not use the disable all drivers button.

      2. Vic on 27.03.2008 at 01:55 (Reply)

I am glad you guys figured it out ;)

    12. Martin on 03.04.2008 at 19:37 (Reply)

Thanks YC that did work, wonder how I could overlook that check box ;)

Vic I have been watching your video for the third time now, hehe and I have on question. Am I correct that you run your sites several times in bookmarking demon using different accounts ? If that is the case how many times would you suggest to do that per week ?

Oh, and do you use proxies at all for this process ?

    13. Mirjam on 04.04.2008 at 15:52 (Reply)

… wondering here if there is a way to run this on a Mac…?

      1. Vic on 04.04.2008 at 18:37 (Reply)

Mirjam not that I am aware and I do not know if their is a tool like this for Mac . Please if anybody has an option leave a comment.

        1. Mirjam on 05.04.2008 at 06:12 (Reply)

I already contacted a friend about it who works with both PC and Mac, hopefully he has a solution, maybe I can set up some OS on Mac to run it, because I run into this problem quite a lot. All the programs that come in handy and are a big timesaver are always only for PC :(
Thank you for the efforts you put into this blog!

I have just purcahsed BMD, and I’m not sure I understand how to hid my urls. Can someone clue me in a little better….. thanks

      1. Elliott on 09.04.2008 at 17:25 (Reply)

        TA,

by hiding your URLS, what is meant is if you are bookmarking your sites with BMD, you don’t want to have only your URLS in there.

Add some others in with them to mix in some legit looking bookmarks to kind of hide yours.

You can use StumbleUpon to help come up with some other sites that are related to the ones that you are bookmarking, or just whatever.

Also, be sure to use the Proxy option if you are running multiple accounts for the bookmarking services.

        1. TA on 09.04.2008 at 18:24 (Reply)

ok I think I understand now.

          So,

          mysite
          another site
          another site
          another site
          another site
          mysite2

on and on and on……. is this the right track?

          THanks for the resposne
