Ad Software You Really Need

Some one that does not know how to play chess waits after his opponent to move to see what move he will do. An avg player is 2-3 moves ahead and a good player is 7-8 moves ahead. I always try to be at a minimum 6-7 moves ahead in chess and I will not move till I see the moves in my head, In business you should always be 8 moves ahead but sometimes we have to move when we only are 2 ahead. My point do not wait till your blog is a huge blog start today treating it as a huge blog because when it is already big you may suffer growing pains because you did not act accordingly.
Unfortunately many of the things I will discuss here will not apply to bloggers that are either on wordpress.com or blogger.com if you are on either of these platforms I will make a post explaining why you need to move yesterday to a self hosted wordpress install.
The first tool is a Wordpress plugin called AdMan. With this script you can place ads just like on this site. The one on the front page, the top and bottom banner on the single page and the inline 300×250 they are all served by AdMan. Now I do not put the code directly into AdMan I actually serve my ads from a different adserver. You can get AdMan here.
My second piece of software is OpenAds. This is one of the most robust adserver platforms out there. Now this soft could easily cost $900.00 but luckily it is Open Source for the good and the bad. Open Source is great but the biggest drawback is there is no tech installing it for you and at least OpenAds has a good manual and wiki most Open Source does not.
Why serve from OpenAds, easy because it goes back to Frank’s question how do you manage 100 blogs. It is all about tools folks. Tools and centralization. Imagine if you had to go to each blog to change ad code mmm no thank you. Now with OpenAds you can even serve your adsense it is also extremely cool to go to one place for your stats and make decisions based on one panel instead of going to your adsense account and then to CJ and then to ClickBank see where I am going with this. You can get OpenAds here.
I will warn you be prepared to spend a while trying to figure out OpenAds there is no doubt this is the time to read instructions first and then try to make your first zones and ads. There is a forum so when you get stuck go over there to ask questions.

Ad Software You Really Need | Blogger Unleashed…
This is the follow up post to monetization. I found out the hard way why you really need to have a proper ad delivery system for your blog. This is one of those post that I really hope people get because you really do not want to happen what I discuss …
So you would say AdMan is good for plugging ads like Adsense in around your blog?
I obviously don’t need OpenAds, because I really just have this one blog, that’s it.
My main problem is knowing what service is the best to put on my site. My niche is pop culture, movies, television, books, etc.
So, do I use Adsense in blog posts? Do I put Amazon links in all my posts?
I am signed up with CJ, so should I find products that go with my blog niche and use them? Those aren’t PPC, they are results oriented, so not sure they work out well.
I’d love to display good quality entertainment ads, but I just don’t know what’s out there.
Mike Adsense is really really good in the niche you have I would not put any ads on the side bars. I would only put a banner on the top and bottom of the post and I would put one inline midpost left.
So it would look like this page. ad top ad bottom an ad where you see the BANS ad. If you coordinate the colors to match your site the will not be that intrusive. If you want to just test it out install Adman and just put one 468×60 ad on top of you post run it for a few days and come back with your CTR do not worry about CPC it will take a few days for the adsense bot to come and you get priced right. You will start on the low end but CPC will start to go up usually in 4 to 7 days.
I already have Adsense running on my sports site: arizonasportsfans.com at the moment.
Will that affect my CPC with what you are saying?
Also, crazily, I had a $2 click on that other site today…wish I had known what ad it was!
Yes you will get priced because your adsense pubid will be in a new site. But again it should only take a few days to come back up. Again it should be worth it. This is why I would only start with one 468×60 top post to see how well your CTR is, if it is to low than I would remove.
Have any of you heard of or used CBProAds in conjunction with Adsense? Looks promising, but I don’t know as I’ve not used them yet.
Mike I have somewhere a script I bought that actually makes adsense type ads from clickbank and you keep all the profit. I will try to find it to give you guys the name.
Vic, You mean not just the standard 50-75% commission, but the whole enchilada? That doesn’t make sense. You can only get all the profit if it’s your product right?
mmm Hi Mike
Yeah with these other services that feed CB ads they tag on it there own ads. So for example for every CB ad they show with your CB ID the place one with there ID. So let’s say your reader clicks on the CB ad and it happens that it had there ID you lost that sale. The script I bought nad have used a few times is even content relevant like Adsense. It downloads the CB data and you just publish. I know I have is one the computers I just need to find it.
So if I have my ads positioned now on my blog, I have to remove them all and then use AdMan to process all my ads?
Or I can just start now and not care about the previous posts?
That’s a nice post. Thanks for the info about OpenAds. We are going to test it on some sites! Thanks.
One of the best things about OpenAds is its ability to also serve adsense ads
I just uploaded the OpenAds, but I don’t think I am ready for this right at the moment. Thanks for the heads up however.
