Could you give us a link to that “related post” plug in?

    I just installed this one:

    http://mitcho.com/code/yarpp/

but I think you’re describing a different one (since YARPP didn’t mention a SQL query).

    Thanks.

Here is the Related Post Plugin.

      Vic,
That was the pluggin that was messing up my theme on browsers using 1024×768. Are there any other alternatives you could recommend.

  3. Tuppy Glossop on 20.03.2008 at 14:19 (Reply)

Thanks man. BTW, the YARPP author says his plugin is built on the work of the guys who wrote “Related Posts” and he gives them credit for that. I’m not techy enough to know if he improved it or not, but it looks like the output is pretty similar.

Cool I will download it and see if it is all good.

Apparently it’s a leaked document from Google about web spam. Very interesting.

April thanks I just got home and I really welcome this type of reading.

WOW! I can finally see your video at my job. This is so sweet. I can watch and learn there and in the evening implement what I saw at work. This is really going to give me time to get more work done.

I did not know your contact page did not work. I definitely will be contacting with my local niche URL.

Glad to hear that I am not just a loser with CJ its their site.

I will be uploading the new plug-in tonight and see if I can get that to work. I use hostgator (purchased through your link of course)and hopefully can finally get it to work.

I am so technically challenged when it comes to a lot of this stuff. But I still have enough brain cells left that I can learn. You can teach an old dog new tricks. :-)

Denise I approved your Skype so if you have trouble I will e online this weekend and I will help you with the upload and setup.

    Vic,

I’ve finally caught up on all your videos! I had to hit the F11 key to see the vids. Dude, this is awesome! I can’t believe you make so many vids.

Ok, I have one questton. You often refer to Keyword Elite and SEO Elite and BMD. I have all three of these tools but I’m curious as to what tools you recommend.

Which tools do you consider “must have” tools?

    1. Vic on 20.03.2008 at 22:32 (Reply)

Chris I promise tomorrow I will make a Vlog about this and explain in detail which and why.

  7. Mike Huang on 20.03.2008 at 22:00 (Reply)

Vic, does REVVER allow you to show the video in an RSS feed? I’ve been trying to look for one that shows in the feed unlike YOUTUBE. Maybe you could do a post about it :)

    1. Vic on 20.03.2008 at 22:33 (Reply)

Ok Mike can you be more specific remember I am, a 40 year old slow dude LMAO. I know like right now you click my feed and the Revver video is seen so what option exactly is it that you mention.

    Thanks Vic,

I will be around on Saturday. With Easter on Sunday I will be gone most of the day but home in the evening.

    I am on Eastern time.

      Denise,

The code is really simple to put in. Just find your “main index template” file, and put the code under the “content” or “postmeta data” lines.

Shoot me an email and let me know which version you are using and I can take a look at your site code for you.

  9. Stonkin on 20.03.2008 at 23:32 (Reply)

Related posts plugin is ok but I’d recommend you guys try the Similar Posts plugin.

    It is awesome. Try it.

    hey Vic,

I know this is a bit off topic but I was wondering what happened with bu.bulicio.us

    I couldn’t find the “bu.bulicio.us” post on Court’s site.

Could you please post more on this or even hit me back with a reply.

Thanks for a very inspiring blog!

Just made a Vlog and explained I am waiting for Revver to approve to publish.

Vic, feel free to use my sites as an example good or bad. As far as you comming down on me, I could care less. I appreciate people willing to shoot me straight. If I thought you were a Dumbass and didn’t know what you were talking about I would tell you where to go. Well, off to check my stats Thanks again.

Disclaimer: Dennis just decided to research how to make money online in December 07.

I was kidding about checking the stats.

Hi Vic, there is a lot of good valuable stuff here, thanks for all the information. I really look forward to you videos. However I wanted to ask you something about adsense. How can we find some good CPC keywords that can give a high Pay Per Click than 5 or 10 cents. I guess Keyword Elite has some related feature or do you recommend using keyword country.

    1. Vic on 22.03.2008 at 07:25 (Reply)

You know I will need to make sure I mention that yes I use Keyword Country with Keyword Elite but even then you can also go to Adwords and look at the competition.

    Hey Vic,

We are sitting here with popcorn, drinks and the speakers at full volume. This is better than the cinema! :-)

    Thanks buddy, great vid.

      LMAO I hope so!

For some reason I cannot get your videos to run.

I downloaded the YARPP plug-in and it seems to work OK but not as good as the related posts plug-in you all use. It will do until I can get the Related Post Plug-In to work.

    1. Vic on 22.03.2008 at 07:25 (Reply)

      OK did they start working?

    2. jblu on 24.03.2008 at 19:52 (Reply)

      Denise,

I’m using the Related Post Plug-in on Host Gator also and I got it working fine.

If you haven’t got it working yet, does your problem have to do with running the command in phpmyadmin?

Well, if you want some extra help, let me know ;)

      1. Denise on 29.03.2008 at 22:12 (Reply)

        jblu,

I sure could use some help! Elliott is so busy between work and his business that he hasn’t had time to get with me. I can understand that. I will send you an email and send the details.

  16. Tim E. on 29.03.2008 at 18:05 (Reply)

    Hey Vic,
Stonkin mentioned a “similar posts” plugin in comments. Would this one be as good or comparable to “related posts”, since I can’t get that one to work on Bluehost? Yeah, I know I probably gotta move eventually. Just too much to do at once and I’ve already wasted all morning on one plugin.

  17. Stonkin on 30.03.2008 at 00:58 (Reply)

Tim E, the Similar Posts Plugin does the same job as the Related Posts Plugin.

The difference is in the way that it determines what is related. I’ve personally found the Similar Posts Plugin to be a lot more accurate.

You shouldn’t have a problem using it with Bluehost pal.

Maybe Vic just hasn’t tried this Plugin yet. I don’t know.

Just try it. I wouldn’t waste my time recommending it if I didn’t think it was a better plugin.

And by better I simply mean in regards to the accuracy of the posts it selects as being similar.

You can have excerpts just like the Related Posts Plugin.

    1. Tim E. on 30.03.2008 at 03:21 (Reply)

Thanks, but I got the related post plugin working. I had downloaded v2.0.4 first, found out from the forum that version was causing problems, then tried v2.0.2 and it’s working fine now. I’ll have to look into the accuracy thing, but for SEO purposes it probably doesn’t matter too much if its results are out to lunch.

  18. Stonkin on 30.03.2008 at 03:36 (Reply)

Cool Tim, glad it’s working for you now pal. Like you said, for SEO purposes it doesn’t matter which one you use.
