Blogging Zoom Test Case

Folks I have been deep in restoring sites and fixing things at BZ this is why my comment answering and participation has been slow the past week, I apologize for this but rest assure I am almost caught up and we will continue our work here as it is not even close for being finished.

Now this post is made to answer a comment from Todd at the official BZ blog the comment is as follows:

Hi Vic,

I’ll be honest, looking at several different analytics programs (google, wpstats, mybloglog) I rarely see bloggingzoom as a referrer. And with all the links back to author’s original posts being “nofollowed” I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around how submitting here is helping my (google) search results …

I’m probably just being dense (not an unheard of event … ask my wife).

But perhaps you or Court could post some of sort of an explanation of exactly how our unique submissions to BZ benefit us? (other than the obvious benefit of networking with other like minded bloggers)

Thanks in advance,
Todd

Now I answered Todd but in a nut shell. The 350 character rules is established to give you enough space to write the keyword you are working at least 3 times this should be enough to provide the system enough to promote your individual submission enough to rank high on SERPS.

I want to actually show you guys how to do this. So I could had gone for an easy test but I decided to actually work a bitch of a niche so you folks actually see this in action. Below will be the post I would write in my blog:

Getting Mortgage Refinancing

If you are one of those people who have difficulties paying your first mortgage and you are looking for options to help you with this, mortgage refinancing might just as well be the solution for you.

Mortgage Refinancing is what usually financial experts recommend leveraging mortgage rates. It is fundamentally paying off your first mortgage and getting a second mortgage. Most borrowers who for mortgage refinancing do so to have immediate equity on the mortgage and to change loan type. Other reasons include to take advantage of improved credit ratings. But, the most popular reasons for mortgage refinancing is to obtain lower interest in the mortgage to lower monthly payments.

Before you can get a mortgage refinancing, various information that were required in your first mortgage will again be asked from you such as your financial records and credit reports for you new loan report. The lender will require information about your debts and current assets, verification of your employment and your income, your financial accounts such as checking and savings and the title of your land. Lenders may also require you to submit an appraisal and the survey of the site where your home is constructed or will be constructed.

Information about your first mortgage such as your current monthly payments and outstanding mortgage balance will also be required by the lender before mortgage refinancing is approved. Aside from these, the status of insurance payments and property tax will also be considered. In cases where you are refinancing from another lender, original lender’s contact information should also be submitted.

Of course, when you undergo mortgage refinancing, certain fees and costs are involved. Some fees that are originally paid during a mortgage closing out are paid during a refinance. Some of these are:

- Application fee
- title search
- title insurance fees
- appraisal costs
- prepayment penalties
- loan origination fee
- discount points
- and if applicable, legal service fees.

Some financial institutions offer negotiations on these. And others allow borrowers not to pay these costs but are expected to have a higher interest rate in their mortgage refinancing.

It all sounds easy enough but just as you did on your first mortgage, there are some things you need to consider before going for mortgage refinancing. Fannie Mae, a well-known stockholder owned company that provides guidelines for conforming mortgage loans provides these considerations you need to assess in yourself before considering mortgage refinancing:

- the length of time you think you’ll stay in your house
- the number of years left to pay for the existing mortgage
- the ability to afford the costs involved and,
- the ability to save money while paying the loan

To further see the impact of mortgage refinancing to your financial plans and objectives, many mortgage calculators are available online. There are usually different variants of these depending on the type of mortgage refinancing that you want and need. Some calculators compute whether mortgage refinancing will lessen costs, while others are used for refinancing 2 mortgages. Another calculator can be used to study if mortgage refinancing of one mortgage into two mortgages can lessen costs while a calculator for borrowers enrolled in Adjustable Rate Mortgage who want to refinance in Flexible Rate Mortgage is also available.

Aside from self-assessment and mortgage calculators, it is also recommendable for you to ask advice on mortgage refinancing from your financial adviser and on the lending company where you had your first mortgage.

Ok Now I will make the Blogging Zoom submission. To see the actual submission I would do for the test post here click on the Zoom button and compare what the article looks like vs how I would write the submission.

    Vic,

Your sentence about your site providing one on one support is brilliant. I never thought about putting that in my submissions.

My understanding of BZ’s advantages was not quite on the money after reading this and your reply to Todd, but now it is fine tuned. Thanks Vic. ;)

  4. Robert on 04.02.2008 at 15:52 (Reply)

The original question asked though seems to relate not to “how do I do a description on BZ” but is more focused on the whys of using BZ in the first place, given the nofollow on the link to the original article. Is there a second post that will be covering that better?

Myself, I see a few BZ referrers, but I’m assuming it’s folks from the site itself and not found via search, click on BZ link, then find the original article link.

    1. Vic on 04.02.2008 at 16:14 (Reply)

Robert I answered Todd on the official blog but I will do here the same. Because Blogging Zoom has more keyword authority then 90% of your websites. Blogging Zoom was built with Google organic traffic in mind. Show me a post with a keyword you have on your website that you rank well and I will show you how using Blogging Zoom I can out rank your website in just a few days and I can do this over and over again. The problem is people do not understand how to write a Google attractive submission. Again when Blogging Zoom has a year or so burst traffic will start happening but in reality that is not good traffic, good traffic is targeted organic traffic.

What I posted here is to teach you folks how to make a keyword focus submission to bring in organic traffic using Blogging Zoom.

Robert so you have an idea right now Blogging Zoom is about 75% organic traffic the sad part is most of you are not taking advantage of that because you are either writing for things people are not searching for or a submission is written that has no opportunity to rank for anything because there are not enough volume of the same keyword to trigger the algorithm.

    2. Desty on 04.02.2008 at 16:38 (Reply)

Roughly half of my traffic is from search engines. A close 2nd is Bloggingzoom. Focus on your keywords and write a good description that invites the reader to click onward to your site. Getting them to your site is so important; they have to know that there is more if they continue to your site. Looking at some submissions, it looks like the submission is the article itself; why bother to go on to the main article?

  5. Making Sales Making Money on 04.02.2008 at 16:13 (Reply)

Vic i agree with Fred, the majority of my sales on my site have come through one on one contact invitation and response. I look at the BZ submission as an opportunity to get a look at the post. Properly worded it can do just that, but then Im not the sharpest tack in the box, lol

    1. Vic on 04.02.2008 at 16:17 (Reply)

ABC Always Be Selling!!! The problem is people just do not get that in order to sell you have to have some one in front of you. This is why you make your incredible wonderful incredible grammar post on your site but you use a service like Blogging Zoom to bring in the traffic with a keyword focus submission.

      1. Making Sales Making Money on 05.02.2008 at 01:20 (Reply)

Vic, I only sell when I breathe, BTW today is my biggest traffic day ever, even with Goggle slamming my former page one rankings for keyword phrases. My organic searches have taken a bit of a hit , but they will come back. Where there is a will there is a way, and Im glad youre back to making these kinds of informative posts.

  6. Vic on 04.02.2008 at 16:24 (Reply)

Look folks lets use a real world example every time you ask yourself why you are not getting daily traffic from Blogging Zoom go read this post
    http://bloggingzoom.com/Techno.....Pod_Stuff/

Now go look at this search

    http://www.google.com/search?h.....38;spell=1

Now this post every day gets Organic traffic that is every day!!!! Also look how old that post is. Look how it is keyword stuff Folks from my Data Center it is position 3 right under the official Apple.com site folks try doing that with a brand new site with no authority.

If make submissions to Blogging Zoom and you are not getting organic traffic every day folks I hate to tell you but there are only two reasons.

    1. You do not know how to write a proper keyword focused submission.

    2. You are writing about something nobody searches.

Example is you have a website about blogging your traffic will really come from other BZ users because folks even though I have said this time and time again people seem not to understand. On a monthly basis there are no searches for blogging terms, we bloggers the 1% of users on the net care about blogging the other 99% of the daily Google searcher does not give a fuck about blogging terms.

    1. Elliott on 04.02.2008 at 16:33 (Reply)

      Vic,

Thanks for using my example! i was wondering about the sudden increase in traffic!

I can attest that BZ is key for your site. Just look at this example and I can tell you that BZ so far is outranking most of my original posts on this site.

I get quite a bit of traffic from BZ itself, but I am also getting around 50 to 100 hits on this site daily, mostly from Google. I can also tell you that since BZ is in the sandbox right now, that it will only get better after BZ comes out of the sandbox.

      Why?

A few of my niche sites are in the sandbox right now. Nothing shows up for a Google search under my keywords for my site itself. however, the BZ submission for my sites post is showing up, and ranking quite high.

This brings another interesting point. Be sure to put something in your BZ submission about “read more about this on my site” or something that will let people know who find your BZ submission that it isn’t the only article and that they need to come to your site to read more.

Now that the HTML editor is turned on, correct me if I’m wrong here Vic, you can now put links in your BZ submission area along with your 350 character post.

You get a back link and a pointer to your site for anyone that finds the BZ submission!

  7. Todd Morris on 04.02.2008 at 16:26 (Reply)

ahhh … Fred caught it … it’s all about how we write our 350 word BZ submission.

We need to focus on the right keywords, don’t share too much, and give people a reason to click through to our story, instead of the BZ ads. In other words, if we’re not getting those search visitors clicking through, it’s probably because we still need to learn how to write better descriptions.

Am I getting a little warmer?

    thanks,
    Todd

    1. Vic on 04.02.2008 at 16:35 (Reply)

Todd you have to give them a reason why to click through. Right now our ads for search engines which you will see on the search above are CTR 3.65 so in other words for every 100 users that reach your submissions Blogging Zoom gets AVG 4 clicks on or ads mmmmm ask yourself where the hell are the other 96 GOING!!! I can tell you they are clicking out of the website because we can see the out clicks in our stat software.

  8. Desty on 04.02.2008 at 16:44 (Reply)

Using Vic’s bait and switch, I have taken advantage of being able to add images to my BZ submissions. I take a pic of my video and insert it as if it were the video itself. When people click to watch the video, it hits the link to my actual video article where they find my ads and the video :)

    http://bloggingzoom.com/Humor/.....nny_Video/

    1. Vic on 04.02.2008 at 17:09 (Reply)

Desty LMAO mm yeah we cna not have that remember that gets people pisst LMAO!!! So my young padawan learn well you have but mmm we need to do that where people will not slam our ass. Cause trust me it gets people pisst.

      1. Desty on 04.02.2008 at 17:15 (Reply)

Bah, it’s an actual picture of the video in the article the picture is linked to. I don’t see why they’d get pissed, its a preview, yeah, that’s the ticket, a preview :)

        1. Vic on 04.02.2008 at 17:18 (Reply)

LMAO yeah but imagine if everybody now started making bait and switch videos images mmmm see where I am going with this and then the next step would be inserting affiliate links inside the bait and switches and in no time neither me or Court could manage the spam on the site.

  9. Natural Health Remedies on 04.02.2008 at 17:08 (Reply)

Before I started blogging I never understood what blogcatalog.com was all about. The site kept coming up in Google but I never understood what I was looking at. So I hit the back button and looked at other sites.

Adding a “click here for more info” link I’m sure will help a great deal. The youtube video picture sounds an excellent idea too. Thanks Desty.

OK Folks LMAO no more bait and switch at BZ that wil get BZ in trouble later god know I am already a shit magnet LMAO

    1. Desty on 05.02.2008 at 17:59 (Reply)

Talk about temptation. Everytime I submit a video I’m tempted to throw a pic in and link it :(

This padawan sees the alure of the darkside :O

  11. Vic on 04.02.2008 at 17:33 (Reply)

Ok Folks I have a question for all of you and please be honest how many of you downloaded OpenAds and already using it. This is extremely important because I want to teach you how to use Adsense in a niche you normally would not. Example Adsense is not a good fit for Blogging Zoom but both Court and me know how to use it where it does not get us priced but in order to do this we have to get really technical this is why till now we have not talked about it. But I think you folks have your local and regular niches far enough that we can start getting you CPC money.

Here is the link to the post I made way back then about this subject.

    http://bloggerunleashed.com/to.....ally-need/

Now I am willing to bet money none of you downloaded OpenAds or are using it. If so folks take a good look at yourself and ask are you paying attention to details. The money is in the details. A small thing can be the difference between 10 dollars in adsense vs making 500 for the same amount of clicks.

    1. Desty on 04.02.2008 at 20:31 (Reply)

I have to admit I didn’t even look at it. I am using adman though, awesome. My thoughts were, at that point, that I didn’t have enough sites to worry about openads. I was still more worried about getting the sites I did have put and optimized; I still am, but am also starting to look past those few and research new niches.

      1. Vic on 05.02.2008 at 00:03 (Reply)

Desty OpenAds and Adman work together I will make a post tomorrow detailing how important OpenAds is but it will be really technical this is why I had made the post way back then so by now you folks understood the software a bit better.

    2. Marshall on 04.02.2008 at 22:09 (Reply)

      Hey Vic,

I have OpenAds up an running on LW as we speak. I also have it sitting on the sidelines for a couple of niche blogs. I will unleash OpenAds on the niche blogs once the organic traffic is there.

I had been thinking about using OpenAds for quite some time, but your BU post pushed me over the edge!

      -Marshall

    3. Todd Morris on 05.02.2008 at 06:45 (Reply)

      Hi Vic,

I remember that post. I downloaded and installed the adman plugin. I was just wondering why I wouldn’t have also gotten the open ads .. then I read this paragraph from your post:

“I will warn you be prepared to spend a while trying to figure out OpenAds there is no doubt this is the time to read instructions first and then try to make your first zones and ads.”

That explains it. lol, my BANS sites still look like shit, because I haven’t had to time to go back an learn the customization yet.

… and I spend almost all my free time on the computer as it is.

I’ll get to open ads eventually.

Speaking of free time … I appreciate you using some of yours to answer our questions.

Catch up with you again soon,
      Todd

Folks April just made a sweet submission and look at the end of her submission it has a click here this is a great move Folks treat all Google searches clueless people most do not understand how a Digg style site works most people click out because they think that was the whole post period!!!.

    1. Desty on 04.02.2008 at 20:28 (Reply)

I agree. Normally you want to roll with some anchor text, but you really need to spell it out for some people where you want them to click.

    2. Natural Health Remedies on 04.02.2008 at 21:37 (Reply)

      Thanks Vic.

I remembered skimming through a post about it on copyblogger. Here is the article…

      http://www.copyblogger.com/click-here/

I might try “click to continue” next time.

hmmm … this must be a new addition I think. I tried to add a link in a couple of my posts to BZ about 8 days ago, but when they showed up on the site, the Links were gone.

Two days later, I tried using an image in my post … that worked. It hadn’t occurred to me to try linking again. Thanks for pointing this out.

      Todd

  13. Work From Home Jobs on 04.02.2008 at 19:24 (Reply)

One problem of putting any of your niche blog posts on Blogging Zoom is that your niche is there for everyone to see. I’d love to put some of my posts up with a real targeted synopsis like you are discussing but then you expose your niche.

    1. Terry Didcott on 04.02.2008 at 20:17 (Reply)

I was thinking along the same lines.

Vic even tells us to protect the identity of our niches because there are so many assholes out there who would love to screw us up just out of spite.

I’m in two minds about submitting a post on a new niche that I found and it has almost NO competition and more daily searches than you can shake a stick at! My problem is my site won’t index even using all the tricks, so until it does I’m sitting on a gold mine without a shovel, so to speak!

If I submit it to BZ, I’ll likely get traffic but at the same time I know loads of other marketers will catch on and WHAM my competition goes through the roof!

Bit of a damned if I do, damned if I don’t scenario!

      1. Elliott on 04.02.2008 at 21:23 (Reply)

        Terry and DayJobNuker,

Contact me via my sites contact form as I am at my “job” right now…I have an idea to share with you.

      2. Vic on 05.02.2008 at 00:05 (Reply)

Terry you have a really really good point if I have a niche that I want no competition I would not submit it to BZ or anywhere else.

        1. Terry Didcott on 05.02.2008 at 09:02 (Reply)

Cheers Vic, it’s good to share stuff, but there are some things like very sweet tight niches (bet you thought I was gonna say pussy!) that if you tell everyone will jump up and bite you in the ass LMAO!

    2. Vic on 04.02.2008 at 21:53 (Reply)

Bruce I have found that peeps do not mess with them there but you put a link here it is kind of inviting. But if people do as I say you will not have a problem I do not monetize a website till 60 days after I have started it. Submit as soon as the website is live by the time the monetization comes in you post will have been forgotten at BZ and only Google traffic will be coming to them.

  15. Atlantic City, NJ on 05.02.2008 at 15:00 (Reply)

    Vic,

OpenAds - I joined 25K Challenge Jan 13, 2008. Since then I’m playing cathup with ya! I will cathup! Your wondering about OpenAds and who took advantage of it! The article was Dec. 14, 2007. The only reference I could have picked up was your list of plug-ins.I’m working on that list, but adman was a “I’ll get to” plug-in.

While I’m being an idiot….Once or twice a week I go to Elliots list of Local Niche Participants, and zoom every article. (small list compared to commenters here!) Yes! It takes a little time. I also zoom articles while I’m surfing in BZ. I posted BZ article yesterday. 5 zooms, One was me, and 4 others not in local niche! I think that says something! Please don’t think I’m looking for support. I can do without zooms! I guess I just want to bring up a point. Problem is, I still love you guys! Ha Ha!!! Please be easy on me! Ha Ha!

    1. Terry Didcott on 06.02.2008 at 12:55 (Reply)

Sorry I haven’t been as active in BZ as I should - every time I go in there I do zoom anyone’s post I see in the local niche, problem is I’m not in there every day cause of time - never enough of it!

I’ll try get in as often as poss and zoom everyone !

  16. Denise on 05.02.2008 at 15:23 (Reply)

I cannot wait to see what you have to say about OpenAds. I do not have any sites old enough to use it yet but you have peaked my curiousity.

I agree with Atlantic City. I would like to see more participation at Elliott’s forum. Maybe because I have the most ?s :-)

    1. Vic on 08.02.2008 at 16:48 (Reply)

Denise actually it is the opposite from day one you want to be using ad delivery software you do not want to get to the day that you have 300 post and now you have to go to each post to add the software.

  17. rob on 24.02.2008 at 21:11 (Reply)

    hey Vic,

just did a google search for the term “Mortgage Refinancing” and I could not find the BZ article that you wrote anywhere within the first 20 SERP’s.

    any reason why?

    thanks Vic.
