Unplug Yourself Now!

by Vic on December 29, 2007

While Darren Rowse is writing a post on how blogging is like watching grass grow, feeding how blogging is deep and life changing he is quietly building a blog niche empire with b5Media. But yet he does not provide the real information that you need to know how to be successful at the same game he is playing. Darren Rowse shows you the game but not the rules and in return he keeps growing his niche empire on the backs of all his readers.

People if you are still writing about fucking blogging and yet you have not started your new niche blog you are wasting your time here reading. You might as well go back to Darren Rowse and keep eating the shit he feeds you. If you have not started a niche blog yet please just go straight to Darren Rowse watch the grass post and write a comment on how life changing that post was for you and drop my feed.

Folks let’s see if you fucking understand it. Key terms for Blogging searched last month.

wordpress: 12425
blogging: 32285
blogging make money: 792
make money online: 44151
twitter: 1060

Folks all of us that make real money from the net have multiple streams of income. We do not put all our eggs in one basket. Now can you make it big with just one site, of course you can, now stat wise you multiply your shots at success by having multiple sites and venues to make income.

Now what niche you choose is up to you. A few days ago a dear friend showed me a niche he just started that just fucking floored me, he found a niche that had I think 30k searches a month for a specific keyword and had full adword competition so in other words sick CPC and the site that had position one in Google was a PR3 LMAO talk about an easy niche to just dominate.

Folks right now the blogs that are just having amazing success with Blogging Zoom are does sites that have nothing to do with Blogging or the Internet. This is because even though right now we are ranking high for the related keyword terms, their are just not enough searches a month for all the competition. So now I will talk to you about a niche that all of you should have. This is a niche that has to be part of your multiple sources of income. Let me say it again the Vic way. YOU NEED TO OWN THIS FUCKING NICHE!!!!

Frank from OpTempo.com wrote an article named MSNBC Catches Up With Niche Blogging that at the time I just said wow some one is right on track. Now because I am so slammed I can not visit all my fav sites everyday and at the time I did not even make a comment waiting for the huge amounts of comments to react to them and see what Frank had to say about the huge response this article would have. Now to my FUCKING SURPRISE went I went to his site to read the comments so I could incorporate to this post their is not one FUCKING comment! Geezz do people get it or what???

People you need to own your local niche market! Why do you think John Chow writes about his lunches and dinners? John Chow might be the Queen Self Centered Bitch but John Chow is pure business. John Chow works his local market because he is getting paid!

So today you are going to take advantage of this and if you live in Topeka, Kansas you will go right now and register THETOPEKAGAZETTE.COM. Now why is this local market so beneficial? First let’s look at what you will be able to achieve. If you start blogging about your local market you will gain exposure to people you can go shake their hand, in return you can build an easy following really really quick. You will also have access to local revenue from advertising and paid reviews once you have established yourself as the prominent local blogger. But one of the huge things is that it will become the launching platforms for any additional project you want to work and you already have a local core base of support. Think about this. Who will be more loyal to you, the guy reading your Blog in Alaska or your neighbor in Topeka? Imagine having a core base of 500 local readers that you have met through time and are in first name basis with these readers and now you decide you want to work a new niche on a National Level, lets say you are serious Kansas City Chiefs fan and just do not like the blogs out there and you want to go into that niche that will be just fucking tough to get into. But now you have established a local core of readers that will want you to succeed and you tell your readers that you will be launching a new blog about the Chiefs and you want there support you want to get quick national exposure. Now you have talked to your users months before about StumbleUpon and Blogging Zoom and now all your 500 readers that have become your friends do a planed attack on Blogging Zoom and SU and in less then an hour you have 500 Zooms and you have 500 Thumbs Up and 500 Positive reviews in SU I ask you do you think this will get your site to a quick success route?

But wait it gets better. Let’s say you are a serious skilled writer not like me. And now you have really made an impact on your local community and you are talking about things that your local media is not even paying attention to but yet there might be 20k local readers that have been searching on the net and the only thing they find might be a small snippet that the associated press picked up but you have actually made an extensive post on. So you will be getting also this untapped organic traffic that CNN and MSNBC will be getting with a small snippet post. Now let’s say some thing local happened that 3 days later becomes national news but you actually have being writing about this for three days, folks who the fuck do you think will take position one for the 2 million searches that people will do right after the national TV news is over? Can you say PAY DAY!!!

My point folks just like you need a diversified investment portfolio you need a diversified portfolio of income streams. Now in investments we have our core solid investments, in blogging you should also have your solid blogs and one of those has to be your local niche market. This niche market does not have to be a city it could be a community the important thing is to try for a size that you can have at a minimum 500 core readers, 500 people that will know you and you will know them by first names, that when you are on MSNBC as a guest correspondent talking about something in your local market they will look at the TV and say. Hey That is Joe of the The Topeka Gazette and you know what I know him, he is my friend.

Thanks for the heads up! I have been mulling over this very topic for days now myself. When I do shearches about my local area I can never seem to find what I am looking for. It is an easy thing to write for. And information is unlimited. Thanks for the push.

I think the application of your instant rankings techniques to "famous" blogger's names like Rowse makes you look like a hustler trying to create controversy, and is sort of inviting them to ignore you – unless its Eric Ward That said, you are absolutely right about local niches.

i'm telling you that the application of your instant ranking techniques to Darren Rowse's name, looks like a troll. You can take that info or leave it, but if you really don't care what your readers have to say, maybe you should turn off the comments.

Joe first son the instant ranking would not work with the keyword string "Darren Rowse" please read the whole post again it seems you did not get it.

Again I really do not give a fuck about what anybody thinks of me or why I do things, the important thing is I know why I write and what intention is behind what I write.

As for the comments Joe I do not need commenting the comments are for those that have questions. I know how to do this I make my living from this every day.

If I thought you could teach me something I would not wait for you to comment here I would go to your site. It would be idiotic of me to write a post and wait for someone to come and teach me something.

    OK, here's a question:

Why did you boldface the keyphrase Darren Rowse 4 times?

Juan Chow December 29, 2007 at 5:59 pm

If we are going to talk about keyword targeting then how about I target Darren Rowse on the comments. Heck, Darren Rowse has been mentioned already 5 times, and now the real keywords is make money online, but if people keep asking Vic why He used Darren Rowse then I guess Darren Rowse will be the keywords used in this post. But as Vic said it is Make money online and that is what people need to remember. With that being said I really don't think we need to talk about Darren Rowse on any more comments. Lets focus on how to make money online.

Great thoughts about targeting the local stuff! Hadn'st thought about that one, but you're right, there usually isn't crap locally when i search for it.

    costa December 29, 2007 at 9:22 pm

    Vic,
that was a good analogy. To be frank, I do have a personal blog that caters for my local friends and I don't want to publicise it here because I don't think anyone will understand what i am writing over there however, I do enjoy some popularity among the local crowd.

The fact is the place I am staying is a seaside town and it is a favorite holiday and weekend destination, so I had this little silly thought, what if I open my blog for advertisements to the local budget hotels and restaurants for them to advertise their rooms and food to the local crowd? As an opener, I even offered 2 months free advertisement.

Sounds attractive huh? But wait a minute, I spent 2 weeks meeting the local restaurant owners and the budget hotel bosses and you know what was the answer I got?

"What is a Blog? Where do i see It?"

Sheesh! Guess things work differently in different countries huh.

On your advise about the niche blogs. I just started 2 (brand new), I think I told you so about a week ago, I have filled one with more than 15 posts, got indexed one day after I submitted my sitemap and stuffs to Googles and this morning, I have 3 search hits and it's less than a week old! Does that mean I have one foot out of the sandbox already?

    Vic December 30, 2007 at 10:47 am

Costa I do not think it is just in your country it has to do with us. We are so used to our little world that we assume everybody knows what we know. Last month it was either CNN or MSNBC but they actually had a reporter on the streets where they asked 100 people what was Digg 86% either said no or asked if they meant digging a hole kind of Digg.

Just educate peeps and down the road it will payoff.

    And Oh Vic,

When you find the time, please do have a peek. I would love to know if I am doing it right. I don't want to screw up from the very beginning, like what happened to all my failed blogs based on shitty advise. I did it strictly based on what I learned here and from Court.

It's a blog about switches and home electrical stuffs.

    REMOVED URL

    Thanks.

Costa you are working it perfect. Now keep getting anchored links I know this is probably the most boring thing we bloggers have to do but it is what will keep moving you up the SERPS

Okay Vic. Is there a reason you added "gazette" on the end of thetopeka? Just trying to find out what you're getting at in regards to local. Thanks!

    Reply

    Vic December 30, 2007 at 10:51 am

Mike the reason I used that as an example is because I have some niches that I go full SERP so I incorporate keywords inside the domain but many niches I work I think about branding big time because from day one I am already thinking that down the line I might be able to sell the niche. So I want the domain to sound as cool and professional as possible.

This is right on the money Vic I am one of those who actually started to make real money starting from local market or a scene. My first blog that cracked the adsense code (oh I so love the sound of this phrase LMAO) was targeted so huge on a local market that has been burning for quite a while now and it was from there I truly understood things like niche blogging and blogging for what the market wants and not for myself it just won't buy me even coffee if I did the latter.

Great post Vic as usual and one that has given me food for thought. I did a quick local search and found some interesting potential.

@ Costa: I believe you shouldn't mention your niche blogs to a huge audience like Vic has. If you need to take him a look, then let him know private since there are lots of prying eyes here that can't wait to steal your idea and run with it.

Since they also learn how to keyword snipe and rank for high SE positioning they might out rank you.

You know, the core readers here are all honest people, but there are many other DF's that lurk and steal whatever they can.

Joe my apologies LMAO now I see where you are coming from. This is for Joe and please all of you folks. Do not pay attention to things I do in a post when I am doing some thing specific I tell you inside the post. I really do not apply any SEO to the post here except those that I am using a technique to teach you folks something.

Now Joe the reason I bold a lot on the post is just to use as an exclamation and also not to make the whole post so bland as you know I do not use images because of time constraints and I just feel stupid sometimes making you guys read my stuff whit out any glitz. I visit Franks site today and I see his post with images and all this cool things and my post are like mmm nothing so please do not think their is a hidden meaning.

As of right now Joe I am only really working one term and that is "make money online" and I am only working it for the index. Joe I have a rule and this is something all of you have to decide what is your limit. I do not work any term that does not have more then 30k searches a month. It is to much work to be working terms with less searches at least to my method of working.

But thanks for actually paying attention to that and I take back reading my post you actually did and understood it well, but again Joe this niche sucks dick big time and their is not enough searches for me to really waste my time.
