By Vic on Mar 16, 2008 in Monetization
Review and Tutorial on Build A Niche Store BANS. In basic terms, it builds web sites using an affiliate feed from eBay. You pick the product/niche you want to use, do a little bit of configuration, and BANS does the rest. Like most web site building products, you still have to figure out how to get traffic to the site to make any money with BANS but then we have taught you and will keep teaching the key. The software license allows you to build unlimited sites, so you can build unlimited BANS sites.

I was looking forward to the promised “Getting to know Vic” post.
Have you noted any downturn in BANS activity over the past month or so, particularly in hobby niches? I’ve seen a lot of people on various hobby forums threatening to bail on selling there due to the recent eBay policy changes that negatively impact sellers. Word has it that this has resulted in a 30-50% reduction in listings in certain categories. Of course, on the good side, the buyer friendly changes may make it more likely for new eBay users to sign up.
You’re right. Most BANS sites I’ve run across in searches are stuffed with Adsense and affiliate ads. I’ve even seen a few blog posts around that encourage people to do this.
Yes I had noticed it but not as much as last night when I actually went into PaintBallZoom.com now since my traffic is so targeted it has not affected my sales.
Yeah I noticed post after post telling people to place the 500 ads LMAO I just do not get it.
Great tutorial Vic. I have been trying to buy Build A Niche Store all weekend, but its site is down. I can’t wait to start creating pages.
You think .info domains are okay for these BANS sites?
For BANS I think they are great plus you can really work keyword strings again all you want is to get people to the site and pass them to Ebay.
Vic,
After that video you can now officially call me a “dumb fuck”. Actually a “SUPER Dumb Fuck” would be the most appropriate.
Oh well, I am slowly making progress.
Buddy I just hope something I said can help you get the money faster
I find that the content you use in BANS seems to be automated. You use any script for those content?
Joe, what are you talking about? Vic uses the BANS software. Then ads a paragraph in the beginning with the keywords he is ranking for.
Wow, your videos are really informative. Very impressive.
I have another tricky question. I bought some domains from go daddy but I couldn’t get the two dollar ones because I didn’t want my actual name and address to show up in the who is information.
What’s the best way to handle this? Should I set up a business name with a PO box?
Once again thanks for all of the amazing videos. Emma
Emma be really careful with not using the information you can verify lets do this I will make a video about this because it is important.
Hey, I love the new BANS 3!
I have found that using .info names are perfect for this, unless you can find a .com preowned domain name for it.
Thanks for the tips Vic!
Elliott I am extremely happy with the new version a way upgrade especially with the addon of the lower page much more space to add content.
Excellent. Thanks for the strategy advice and real examples.
In contrast, I came across this heavily modified, multi-advertising, BANS site, badcircuit.com that looks more like a landing page for affiliates, and not a word of content. Also no traffic.
Vic,
How do you do your research to select which ebay product categories to use with BANS? Then once you select your category, do you use normal keyword tools to select the keywords you’re trying to rank for in your product category?
Excellent video content, my friend.
I will cover this on a video
Awesome as ever Vic. I’m another official dumbfuck for having had BANS but not having moved further since buying the domains.
Duh….now that I see how easy it really is the setup a site, I’ll put in some night shifts and keep pluggin away.
You have to pls you really need to do it. I love BANS and in no time is starting to become my number one money maker.
Awesome tutorial Vic,
Thanks to you , I have 4 BANS site running and I am banking on this to make some decent money. I’ve another 2 domains on the way.
Never thought of keyword stuffing the individual pages to get more traffic. Looks like I am another dumbfuck!LOL.
One tiny question. When we BMD these BANS Sites, do we just do it for the home page or what? Or do we BMD BANS sites at all?
Hey buddy I will answer this on a video post.
Looks like the winds of change are blowing. eBay is moving their affiliate program in house, which means they’ll probably screw it up considerably. Here’s the press release about it: eBay Advances Affiliate Offering With eBay Partner Network
As part of the move to an in-house affiliate network, eBay and Half.com will no longer run their affiliate programs through ValueClick’s Commission Junction platform.
They will so much fuck it up in the beginning. Man I am glad the rest of my network is profitable because it might take a few months to get paid when they do the change.
I can’t even get my dumbass moving because BANS wouldn’t even let me buy their product when I finally got approved as an eBay affiliate (and that was one helluva tough job). Their site has been down for a few days now it appears. Anybody having the same problems.
YC it looks like they finally sort it out the problems and it is back up and yes getting approved some ties is a bitch.
Yup Vic I managed to get in when they were temporarily up again 2-3 days ago and got it. It took me well over a month to get approved as an affiliate they kept refusing cos I wasn’t in the US until I showed them I had domains to build loads of stores lol
Vic,
Is using blogger as an ebay affiliate site a viable alternative to BANS until such time as I can start purchasing domains? Or am I just wasing my time trying to use it? If you look at my link you can see what I was working on.
Thanks,
Gotafish
buddyI really do not know I am really not a blogger blog user but Grizz should have a better take on this.
Vic , I am having a hard time loading v 2.0 to my new Host Gator account, Im ready to take a bat to the monitor in front of me
Don what error is it giving you. You should not have any problems what so ever BANS in Host Gator is just upload and 777 cont and cont.php that is it so please can you be specific what kind of error are you getting.
Also what FTP software do you use?

Hi there,
Nice and clear. Near the end you say “once in a while you do a b&d run.”

Okay Vic! You have talked me into trying a BANS site. Never done it before, so would like to ask you how you determine keywords (products) for each site?
There is more than enough Ebay products for ALL OF US to do very well, so competition shouldn’t be an issue.
I would assume there are more profitable niches (Ebay products) that might be a good start, although it all comes down to traffic. Getting traffic and ultimately clicks.
Thanks,
Mike
Mike,
Justin at http://bloggingzombie.com explains how to find a niche on eBay.
You are not targeting high traffic numbers. You want targeted buying traffic or trickle traffic. Don’t think the masses think extremely targeted with three keywords to start with.
10 buying clicks a day is better than 1000 non-buying traffic. That is why you do not need a lot of bandwidth for your BANS sites. You do not want a lot of traffic. Make since?
Also do not get sucked into believing high priced items are the way to go. Think dime store. You make more money with new people signing up for an eBay account than any other way. Imagine out of those 10 clicks 7 do not already have an eBay account. Thats $175 for one BANS site.
Only 3% of the general population knows eBay or has an eBay account. That is a lot of people left to get sign ups from.
Thanks a ton Denise! Totally makes sense. Event though I am an IM veteran, this approach I’m a newbie…LOL.
I don’t even see where I can download the software LOL.
Hmmmm????
I never said I was a “techie”
Mike,
Download the software from the completed sales page from Clickbank.
You should receive a link in your inbox to the download page.
Vic,
I know I’m spastic as I just bought BANS through your affiliate link
Now what?
Would like to discuss this with you via email if possible.
Mike
Mike,
Vic has been a little under the weather so we all are trying to help out as much as possible.
Oh…okay.
I hope he feels better. I’ll check out the other blog you referred to and hope to learn enough to launch my first one.
Thanks Denise!
Mike

I just started using BANS and love it. I really have not had much success with affiliate marketing outside of eBay. So BANS fits me perfect.
I am kind of shocked though that people think they can just throw a site up and have it make money. Like everything else, content is king. BANS sites are no different. Content, content, content.
