Adsense and Noobs Bad Combination

by Vic on December 31, 2007

I received an email pointing me to a post on a noob website where the title is Adsense Isn’t Enough To Make Money Online and he asked me about his new niche blog should he use adsense. Firs of noobs should not be writing shit they are fucking clueless they should stick to plugins and themes and let the people that actually make money talk about monetization.

Look folks I have explained this before and so has Grizz but let me explain again. Adsense is all about adword competitions and the niche you are trying to work. Before you start a niche which is something we will do together one of the things you need to decide is this will be an adsense site niche no do not do like most noobs that start writing about how to blog and expect to make money with adsense and 3 cent clicks.

To all the noobs out there who are not or did not make money with adsense because you had it on the wrong fucking blog!!!!! You are such a noob that put a competition advertising model in a niche their is no competition so explain to me how the fuck did you expect to make money????

Example of an adsense niche. One of my BH buddies has about 10 grey sites one of those sites is a blog that is in the “Driving Under The Influence” niche now he even went as far as targeting GEO so when I say he went niche he went niche. Now he makes over 25k a month from this one blog now let me say it took him 16 months to be on page one of the SERPS and another 5 months to take position one. The crazy thing is when he was in position 9 first page he was only making about $1,800 a month so as you can see what a huge difference position one to position 9 was for his income.

Now a fucking noob starts a blog about blogging and the fist thing he does is throws adsense on it he has never even done or knows what an adword competition graph is but yet he now writes on how Adsense is not a money maker. What The FucK!!! The blogging community is just so uninformed with all this shit how to blogs it is just so fucked up.

Folks before you have even buy a domain or write one word in your blog you should already have a full outline on what monetization you will be using it is not the other way around. If you are looking for adsense income then you should be working a niche that has high CPC now remember this niche might be a huge uphill climb in the SERPS so you have to be prepared for the long road ahead this goes with my post to day Make Money Online 100% Success to work that type of niche you have to do your home work and have a well though out game plan it can not be the game plan the dumb fuck noob has of starting a blog on how to make money blogging LMAO.

If you are a dumb fucking noob, stop writing post about shit you are fucking clueless you might be giving advice to a poor schmuck who is as clueless like you and it could be costing him thousands and thousands of dollars.

This is my rule for a guy who has a “How to Blog” if you can not buy a brand new domain in the morning and have 5k unique hits by that night with a minimum income of $50 you should not be writing about how to make money online.

Happy New Year Vic! More good years and $$$ ahead!

I have a great idea for people who can't make money online with Adsense and never really tried hard enough (e.g. using it only for one site and about blogging to boot) – you can make more cents by betting online on New England Patriots to win each game at -900 odds.

So, for writing my article stating my opinions about Google Adsense, I'm a "noob"? I'd suggest before insulting someone, you take a look around their blog – some of their other content might be better than your own.

I wrote that article mainly based towards making money online blogs, where I wrote how Adsense won't earn you much. I see blogs like mine where people constantly complain they're making just 2 cents a day with Adsense, and telling them that if they're not making much they can consider other options.

I know all about picking the right niche for Adsense; I have a couple blogs like that already but I'm mainly using Amazon on them – an mp3 player blog and a GPS system blog, targeting certain keywords. But a blog made FOR Adsense is obviously going to earn more than a blog NOT made for one. I never said Adsense is NOT a money maker, if it wasn't please tell me how it's the largest advertising company on the web? I don't see how you're getting I don't know how to make money online, since I DO. But that's not the point.

My point WAS, you need to vary your sources of income because so many people think they can quit their 9-5 job the first day they put Adsense on their blogs. And if your niche doesn't make much with Adsense, then don't just keep trying because it's a waste of ad space where something more profitable could go there. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Have a happy New Year. :)

Yes Tay your blog is shit just like every other noob that thinks he will be the next John Chow. Your blog is another rehash of others rehash their is not one actual tip in your blog that will make people actually succeed in the internet.

Yes you can quite your 9-5 with Adsense if you know how to use it but a fucking noob like you is so fucking clueless that used it for the wrong niche.

Son so you learn something today 85% of the money people make online comes from adsense let me repeat it again dumb fuck 85% of money that is paid to the small site owner comes from adsense but yet according to your dumb fuck article Adsense Isn’t Enough To Make Money Online you cant make money from adsense.

Son stick to writing about plugings and wordpress themes and you will not get anybody hurt leave monetization and traffic to people that actually know.

And no son you do not know how to make money online and I can easily prove it. The fact alone that you have the same dumb ass ads that all how to bloggers have proves you are making no fucking money. You dumb fuck how can you make money on ads that every body already have because they already sign up?

I ask you son can you register a domain in the morning and have 5k unique hits before the day is over? No you can not! Baucause you are clueless all you are doing is the same imitation shit all the rest of the How To Bloggers are doing.

Son you are so fucking clueless that you actually have an advertise here page a Blog with no fucking traffic has not authority in any keyword but yet you have an advertise here page LMAO.

Son the fact that you actually have a post called "10 Ways To Blog By Inspiration And Be Successful" is more then enough prove that you come from the dumb ass school of Problogger.

Son if you really want to learn how it is done I invite you to read everything in this blog and apply the same techniques people who are actually making money online apply and then once you have had your first 25k dollar month then you can go and start a blog on how to make money online till then stick to writing about themes and wordpress plugins.

If your point was to vary income sources, then it should be that, instead of saying Adsense doesn't make much money. Your original post did not mention niche sites until someone commented about it. If your point was that a blog not made for adsense wouldn't make money from adsense, then the problem is not with Adsense, it's with the blog/niche. The whole post came across like Adsense cannot make anyone money, and someone who might not have a better idea will get misled, intentionally or not.

YC he is trying now to make the correction when the fact is he wrote exactly what you and me understood. He put adsense on his blog and of course he got 3 cent clicks and then wrote a post on how adsense sucks when in reality he should have wrote a post named "How a Noob Uses Adsense on the Wrong Niche and Makes No Money"

Again the problem is one of our readers here buys a pre-owned domain with real PR4 with over 200 backlinks for the keyword "bank note" where he can easily get $30 CPC and then he reads this dumb fuck post and now the kid does not know what monetization he should use when adsense is the perfect one for the niche.

I have nothing against this kid to me he is just another spot on the wall but unfortunately some one that has no experience reads his dumb ass shit and now this dumb fuck could have easily cost the other kid over 25k in 2008 because he wrote a post about something he is clueless.

It is funny how some writes an article saying a monetization sucks when in fact it is the monetization that makes the most money for niche bloggers year in and year out.

My three year old cousin is more mature than you are.

"Yes you can quite your 9-5 with Adsense if you know how to use it but a fucking noob like you is so fucking clueless that used it for the wrong niche."

I KNOW you can quit your 9-5 job. I stated though, that most people that start in this make money online niche think they can do that the first day they start using Adsense on their make money online blogs. I also KNOW that this niche is not the one for Adsense – that's what my post was stating, that for people with blogs like mine, who write about making money online, won't make enough using Adsense. I KNOW about niche sites targeting keywords because I have some.

"Son you are so fucking clueless that you actually have an advertise here page a Blog with no fucking traffic has not authority in any keyword but yet you have an advertise here page LMAO."

Well, it seems to be working for me since almost all of my advertising is sold out, doesn't it? How do I not have any traffic, when my Alexa rank is lower than yours?

I'm afraid you didn't even understand what my post was about, so you continue to criticize me for things that make absolutely no sense. I know that Adsense can make money online, just not in the making money online niche – you're calling me a "dumb fuck" for not knowing those things, but I already do know them – so basically we're already on the same page here.

I'll repeat my main point again: You need to vary your sources of income and the programs you use. And if one program isn't working for you or your niche, then don't be afraid to drop it and try something else.

Contrary to what you think, I do know what I'm talking about – like I said, we're on the same page here because I agree with you. However, what I don't agree with is your tactic to blogging, how you think going about and insulting people will get you noticed – maybe it will, but not for the right reasons.

Is this what you usually do? Just finding people who you think know less than you do and insulting them? If someone asked you for help on something that you thought should seem obvious, would you call them names or actually help them?

And, as for me reading your blog, I already do – I'm subscribed. You do offer plenty of good advice here. I hope you won't continue to see me or my blog in this light, but nonetheless, I will stay subscribed anyway.

I wrote that you need to vary income sources IN the post.

But besides that, I didn't write the post about how to monetize niche sites. I wrote it for people whose sites are like mine.

I am sorry if I did mislead anyone. I apologize. I wrote that post several months ago, and my writing quality has improved since then. I am able to get my point across much more clearly now. But that is not the point. If someone disagreed with me, it should not have been done in such a childish manner as this.

I never said Google Adsense sucks, I said that if you have a blog like mine it won't earn you as much as other sources might. I don't understand why I keep having to repeat this, but basically my point is, vary your income sources and if Adsense isn't right for your blog then replace it with something else!

I know Adsense DOES make the most for niche bloggers. I know it's the most popular program out there. That's a bit obvious. But it's not suited for the niche that my blog is in. I KNOW it works for niche blogs, because I have two of them and more planned for the future.

This is senseless to keep arguing, so think of me what you want – but just know that you're wrong. Happy 2008.

Another lesson Tay free of charge. No son your Alexa is not lower then mine actually I am kicking your ass in Alexa so bad I would have never mentioned it.

What you see in your toolbar is a three month avg this blog has had only 24 days so if you look at your Alexa graph you will see that right now my weekly Avg is 32,249 and yours is 126,072 so on again giving the wrong information but this happens to noobs when they think they can talk about shit they are clueless.

How is he going to make 20k a year if he didn't even know how to use Adsense on a niche blog? I am sorry, but I bet he won't; you don't know how much he is going to make.

I know Alexa averages their numbers over a period of three months, which is incredibly obvious, but since I was only trying to state a point, just like you, I stated the current number. Just because I don't delve into the obvious detail, I'm stupid? Well guess what? You keep repeatedly writing about how I am stupid and don't know all kinds of things, when I have in fact written already written about those things on my blog – the things you said I'm clueless about. So if I'm stupid, then what are you? You keep making things up and putting words in my mouth only to justify your original accusations, but you're wrong.

At least my blog builds its traffic with solid content – at least half of yours is probably because you're trying to get noticed when you flame people, such as in this post. If you still think I'm an idiot, then try reading my blog – you'll see some of the ideas and articles there are better than yours any day.

Son your blog is dying look at your Alexa you are not even in the top 100k anymore people are already starting to figure out that you have the same rehash shit the rest of the noob how to bloggers have. Please name me one of your so called ideas that are better then mine just name me one fucking original idea?

    Reply

Tay - Super Blogging January 1, 2008 at 2:03 am

I do not "rehash" all of my content. I write from my own ideas and my own experience, and on occasion inspiration from others, and I get comments on a daily basis from people telling me how helpful articles were, and some of them even return a couple weeks later, saying what I have written does work. My "75 Ways to Increase Your Site's Traffic" article, for example.

If you're just out to treat other people like crap, okay. If you just want to prove your blog is better than mine, fine – you can have that one. Your site has experienced very quick traffic growth and success, from what I assume is half due to your unique niche blogging articles and half due to the controversy you cause and your harsh writing style.

Either way, yes, you do have a great blog – because you have a lot of experience in things most people don't. However, that does not make my blog horrible. If it was as bad as you say it is, it wouldn't have even come this far.

I'm sorry this had to happen, all because of a difference in our opinions. Next time you disagree with someone, please either maintain it in a private discussion or keep to yourself instead of insulting and making ridiculous, false accusations.

YC shit buddy tell me about it I seriously think I seem to love taking it hard in the ass I just bough an aged domain that is probably on of the hardest niche to work "wireless" talk about competitive but hey know how it is and it takes a really long time but the pay off is sweet.

Also YC the older your post gets the better pricing you will get so the CPC will keep moving up the whole key with Adsense is to keep a real close eye on the ads if you make a post that starts showing 3 cent ads take adsense away till it gets aged and priced better one fucking post can kill your whole network.

On a side note when you are working a high CPC niche you do not need tons of traffic. I mention a lot trickle traffic I various sites right now that receiv trickle traffic but every time I get a click it is above $10 dollars so it is worth it versus Bu.bulicio.us with 20k unique hits 800 clicks at 3 cents is it really worth it?

Vic now that you mentioned this I noticed it and meant to ask you guys here but forgot in the midst of all the work – if I had ONE post where all the Adsense ads were showing well except a 300×250 block which for reasons unknown had the famous Clinton/Bush foundation public ad – was wondering how could this be and thought maybe the post was still new (even tho' the other ad blocks on the same post were fine). So I waited and checked the next day. Boom, still public ad. Removed it. The rest of the ad blocks were still fine. Is it in line with what you just said and I should wait till the post ages a little and try again?

    Reply

    Grizzly January 1, 2008 at 8:15 am

YC.. The public service ad only appears if there aren't any relevant ads or Google thinks the post is spam (were you keyword stuffing?). If all the ad blocks turn public service then you have just become blacklisted. Was the PS ad only on one post or site wide? Either way you should pull the adsense off, post new quality articles, wait at least a week and then put adsense back on. You should get normal ads again – if not I hate to tell you but you have been flagged as a spam site and you are done with adsense on that site. (you can try asking for a manual review but this is a long shot).

There are instances where the adsense bot can not figure out your content because of poorly defined keywords which is usual with new sites when the owner is unaware of SEO but if the other ad blocks showed relevant ads to your content then this is likely not the case.

It was mentioned in the About but then it has been changed. One thing I'd like to know – is it good or bad to keep running list after list of links to other blogs in your post? That's what is happening on that blog. Like you say there's plenty of rehash there, too. But the person writes good English.

Hey Grizz thanks for the advice. The PS ad was only on ONE of the ad blocks on the same post. The other ad blocks on that particular post page and everywhere else sitewide were fine (I normally use 2 blocks per post page) that's why I was curious. I've since removed it and everything else looks fine. I'm not exactly sure what happened except to suspect everything's just new. I'll wait it out a few days and try and see if I get the same problem, otherwise just stick with one ad block.

Vic I wanted to say thank you. I watched all your videos 4 months ago on revver. I was clueless about online marketing, but I listened over and over and over. This very topic came up about monetization and niche targeting. I think you went over it in two or three videos. Once you said, go local and you'll make more, that's all that I had to hear. I am an ex law school student so this niche was a no brainer for me, and it's targeted. I haven't put adsense on my pages, because I wanted to build rep. I have shot up in ranking and page position.

Again thanks, I feel pretty knowledgable now after about 4 months. Or, i feel i'm not a noob LOL.

You're right – the post is misleading. I didn't get my opinions in that post out as clearly as I should have. However, there is still truth behind it – if you have a make money online blog, Google Adsense is worthless. Each click won't give much at all, and people in that niche aren't even likely to click the ads to begin with since they know they are ads and likely to avoid them. And you know that that is true. I'm sorry I didn't get across what I wanted to say in that post clearly. The writing quality was lacking.

You also know that it's important not to rely on only one income source, but to use many. If you have a niche blog, Google Adsense is great, but that's not all you can use. Amazon is a good one as well, depending on what your site is about. If you're targeting keywords and have a niche site about products, then promoting those products using Amazon or the like to sell them would also be profitable. It all depends on the niche and what works.

Even though you can be a bit harsh, I do appreciate you letting me know what you think so I'll be more careful about how I put things in the future. I am sorry for our disagreements, and I will continue to read your blog. Thanks Vic.

The coolest thing for me will be when one of you folks send me an email with a screen print of a 20,30,40,50 dollar click that day you guys will make me happy.
