Vic, what would you do to get the same or better Ramp for $400? You did not offer any alternative to your readers. I will need that Ramp for 1 Cool File.
I am not going to lie it actually pisst me off, because in the few days this blog has being up there are more ways here to get traffic then in the whole time John Chow’s blog has being up. Number two I DO NOT FUCKING LIE!!!!!! apparently Steve missed that. John Chows RAMP solution IS A FUCKING LIE!!!! but again it seems Steve missed that part.
You have to be STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! (The Rainmaker) to think you will take your site to the next level by paying John Chow $400.00 for a review. Now why will this not work. Simple your traffic will be shit. Do a search there are already post up of people complaining they had hoped that by buying a review at his site they would have had that incredible surge of traffic LMAO yeah right. People who read his shit site already know what a pay review is so mmmm what would your review make you special? You will get the same thing as Entrecard traffic. Now if this is the traffic you want hey no problem I will teach you how to get the same traffic at a way cheaper price.
Now for Steve I will show you how to get a much better return on your investment and you will not have to pay $400.00.
Using yesterdays stats from my Bait and Switch on Steroids post. The video like ad had a 68% CTR those that do not know what CTR is, this means that for every one hundred users that read the post 68 clicked on the ad. So how can we used this to drive the same type of traffic you would get from paying John Chow $400.00 for his review.
First we have to understand why banner advertising is so cheap. The usual CTR on an ad is below 2% now this does not mean that you can get way higher CTR on a real non deceptive ad. But this is just the avg. Now because it is so low it does not make sense for advertisers to pay a high dollar amount on this type of advertising. Banner advertising is rarely sold as CPC advertising the norm is CPM this gives the publisher a better opportunity to make money. In other words when you buy banner advertising you will usually be buying packs of 1000 impressions.
Ok now we know what banner advertising is and how it usually FUCKING SUCKS!! But now as I try to do with everything. I try to use the same thing most people have had bad results with and I will see how I can game the system to my advantage.
Go to Adbrite and go to the page you see the publishers. Sort by ad type in this case it will be the 300×250. You see that it is way cheap. You can usually find a really good site that has the type of traffic you would like on your site for $5.00 CPM. Now you will buy 1000 impressions for $5.00. Now you will be using my video ad. The publisher might have the auto approve on and maybe not, so if he approves manually your ass might be out of luck because he will know that if you get this ad on his site he will have a huge click out. But let’s say your ad was approved.
Now just to be clear this will be shit traffic just like the same shit traffic you will be getting from John Chow, but if you know how to select your publisher at Adbrite in other words if you take your time and pick really good websites to place your ads and these sites match in user type to yours you will be amazed.
Now for those that are struggling to get new readers I just gave you an instant today start getting new traffic tip. Keep in mind this in no ways will ever be better than Google traffic but if you want to get traffic right now this method has never failed me and if you where one of the suckers that clicked on yesterdays ad, you have first person experience that this method works.
Well Steve, I hope you consider this an option to your 1 Cool File site.

Do you want to get 600 unique readers to your blog today? Now only will you learn this but this is an answer to John Chows idiotic Ramp post. And to the numbnuts that actually think that by paying $400.00 for a review will actually get them to traffic …
Geez Vic, that’s an interesting tool.
Can I ask though, for a guy like me running my niche blog, would people see that as a lame attempt draw traffic and cheapen my blog?
Just wondering what everyone thinks of that, because I’d love to just run an experiment on this
Mike actually this trick is perfect for your niche. I would change the ad to look like a video of for Example I am legend. Then I would have it direct to your post of I am legend and try to have a real video on that site. Just make ad video that people would want to press play.
Glad to pisst you off
It’s a cool trick and yes, I will look into it. I did see the video yesterday and click it. It was after my post was publish
Now, I will have a use for my Adbrite account.
LMAO Steve I think the coolest thing about this trick is you do not have to send $400.00 to see if it brings you traffic. I do test of $5 at a time. When I find the site that sends the best traffic to the niche I am working then I buy 10k impressions.
Steve and the rest Folks the key here is mayching the site you will use this trick on to your site at best you would like same demographics.
@Mike - Vic had mentioned in his last post about the ad that you probably won’t want to link this ad to your main blog or site because it could piss a lot of people off. This would be better for an affiliate sales page / one of your niche sites.
Rookie that would only be if you are serving your ad. In this case it is cool because you will be serving the ad with adbrite.
Folks just in case be very careful using this trick with affiliates. Make sure you read there TOS for example you use this with CJ you will get your CJ account canceled before impression 500 so be very careful how you use this trick.
Hey Vic,
A good post again;) And you’re right about John Chow’s crap traffic. To be honest, I’ve also thought that you’re only wasting money by paying him to do a review of your site/blog. I mean, 400 “yoyos” ( that’s dollars:) could be used lot smarter to promote your blog..and you’ve just underlined one of the ways to do it;)
Oh, and usually, when you do a review, you have to be nice with the advertiser who requested it and not to fuck his reputation ( at least, that’s what the guys from Sponsored Reviews say:) But I’ve once read on Chow’s blog that he can say whatever he wants, as his reviews come from ReviewMe and he isn’t forced to write only useful things about his advertiser, as it happens to other reviews from Sponsored Reviews or whatever…
So, it’s cool: you pay 400 dollars and you end up receiving some fucked-up anaemic traffic + Mr. Chow’s “words of praise”. Would definitely pay for such a review [this is max sarcasm]..
LMAO Tiberius you are so right. Just imagine to pay $400.00 to have some say ok MYWEBSITE DOT COM SUCKS!! LMAO
Doing a negative review is one thing. Saying it’s crap is not a review imho.
The key is being constructive so that the advertiser can make the website/product better. John gave 2 negatives reviews in the last 6 months or so.
But Like Vic replied to me, if it’s only for the traffic, doing a $5 test is better and cheaper.
In my case, I would make a related landing page for 1 Cool File.
Thanks for that. Anybody that sticks up for John Chow is just asking for a beating. Thats like sticking up for Hitler and saying He was a really nice guy.
LMAO Thanks Justin
LOL Justin..You’re pretty much right about that. Remind me next time when I see a Chow fan, to pull out my sniper rifle and splash him allover the blogoshpere’s walls;)) Oh, and btw: Hitler was a nice guy HAHAHA..
Here’s an idea for you. Instead of a fake hot chick video, mock up an EntreCard widget.
…with a hot chick instead. That you be a nicer Entrée
My,My, this is one kickass tip that I have to try. Shit or no shit traffic, i will die of heart attack if I see 10,000 unique hits coming to my blog!
Costa important just test the advertiser with $5.00 or less some are cheaper CPM. Once you find a good return then hit for a few mil more.
Hi Vic,
I’m afraid you lost me here. I do have an Adbrite account but never used it. Do you mean for me to create my own video ads or are there existing ones I can choose from to do that $5 test.
If you say create my own videos, what software do I use for this? I’m afraid when it comes to creating banners, headers, etc I’m totally lost.
And I couldn’t make sense of what you were saying in your posts. Sorry!
A funny side note on John Chow - put johnchowsucks.com in your address bar and see what happens?
I wish I would have got this domain could have had a bash on every post John Chow makes website.
