Mike remember that at the end of the day the submission should be all about getting people to your site. Once there they can read the well organized post.

Jason, that's awesome. Now I went from about 1200 absolute uniques in November to 10,000 in December, so I didn't have quite the jump...but I also think you had more of a base of people when you started using BZ than I did...with your PR4 backlink contest, etc.

Still, my traffic seems to grow everyday, I doubled my RSS readers in December which was a big goal for me.

Well, I'm a little late to the party since I've been taking some time off, but I'm trying to catch up and I feel like I definitely have to weigh in on this one.

I am NOT an expert on BZ. I've done it wrong more times than I've gotten it right, but every time I learn something new from Vic or someone else I apply it to what I already know and try to do better.

BloggingZoom works.

I don't know what Mike's numbers are (and Vic told us not to post our stats anymore so I won't be doing that), but my site went from having 1200 to 1600 hits a month before BZ to close to 30,000 unique hits in December.

And I can trace all of that traffic from BloggingZoom and from BZ users who Stumbled my articles or linked to me or otherwise sent traffic my way. And I'm barely scratching the surface of the Google traffic I should be getting! As I'm sure Vic could tell you by looking at the numbers.

Mike and I write what we want to write, what interests us, and it is a very specific niche for the most part, but we still do well on BZ.

Of course, I do still like to get a lot of Zooms because it makes me feel like people are actually reading what I'm writing even though I know that has nothing to do with it...but I can see why people get discouraged when they only get a few Zooms...

And I can see why they wouldn't want visitors to their site to think they only had four people who liked their article...

Vic, thanks for your explanation - that makes sense. Yes, if you would like to edit my Feng Shui submission, you have my permission! :) I would love to see how that turns out.

I will keep your advice in mind when I submit in the future.

Hmm, okay I get it. Submitting my own posts to Blogging Zoom has usually done really well for me, most of them going hot and getting lots of comments etc.

I started to slack off some since I felt I needed to focus a bit more attention on reading and zooming others posts, and commenting and actually participating in the discussions.

I also started feeling like I should maybe wait just a bit to see if someone else submitted my post, since I didn't want to appear selfish. "Give to get" ya know? I'll keep working on it though. Thanks Vic!

Alex would Self Improvement fit? This would be more generic and cover a broader spectrum.
