Hi Vic,
I want to set up lot of bans.
I see you recommend reseller package.

One stupid question.
reseller package: 24gb/250gb
baby a/c: 600gb/6000gb.

I am confused. If our traffic is spiking and our sites are getting shut down with baby a/c, how can reseller with 1/25 bandwidth helps us.

Just create one BANS pkg in WHM and everytime you create a new domain account you assign it the BANS pkg for a BANS site.

Got to BU a couple of days ago for the first time. Spent hours (and hours) reading and watching.

Bought BANS, currently trying to transfer my hostgator shared account to a reseller. Then it's domain Dashboard, then BMD. No BANS sites up yet.

As I'm totally new to this I'm still trying to work out a couple of things.

Am I correct that I add a package and then add each of my BANS sites into that same package? And do I do that by adding an account for each site whenever I add a new site to the BANS package?

Or do I add a package for every BANS site?

Hostgator will transfer my current sites from my shared hosting to my reseller account. Will these be in their own package?

I'm right at step one, think I'm way behind a lot of you, but at least I'm started now. Great blog Vic.

Steven man I do not know what to say try filezilla or as Will said try cpanel BANS is just an easy install so there is no reason why you are having problems.

Hey Steven, you really only need 20-30mb for storage because BANS only takes about 8mb, and for bandwith just start out with 1000mb. You get 250gb of bandwith with the basic package, so with that setup you could have 250 bans sites. Also, I would just use cPanel to upload your skel directory, since you only gotta do it once. Those ftp programs confuse the hell out of me too.

I went over to Justin's blog, where he gave his tutorial on the skeleton file, and he suggested to another poster there to use between 200mb-300mb for the quota, and 500mb for the bandwith.

I modified my account, but I'm still having the same problem, so maybe that's not the issue.

I would post at his blog about this issue but it seems that he's going be gone for a while.

You did not answer my question how much quota did you make for your BANS pkg?

Hi Vic,

When I set it up,I followed along to your instructions in the video. So I would have set it to exactly what you suggested.

Since it was saying "Disk quota exceeded" I was actually considering the possibility that perhaps I might need to set it up with more space for a skeleton directory.

Although, since I'm brand new to this,I don't really understand what I'm doing anyway...lol
