I know this is an old post, but I have just started to get some of this and knew I'd want to revisit it sooner or later. Thanks to this post I found a sweet 10 year old domain with tons of links.

Now what to do with it?

Vic,

I read in optempo frank site, he says if site is not indexed in Google, it is like buying new domain. Is this correct and please clarify.
thanks.

Nice Tutorial. I'm just interested, I saw the blog you put up for the website you bought. What are you planning to do with that site? Didn't see any monetization on it.

Good tutorial, Vic. I watched three times and took notes. It answered all my questions.

A note to newbies like me: join TDNAM at GoDaddy for 4.99 a year, then start buying at Freshdrop.

Vic, btw, I have a link building question...

How do I trade links when building BANS? Most people are willing to trade links, but rarely allow one-way links. Build a links content page or something?

I've got my eyes on an aged domain for a new BANS. It's got 3 days left on the auction. It's indexed and leads to an actual site. I can't believe that it doesn't have a PR but is 4 years old...

I'll debate for the next 2 days if I'm gonna buy it or not :P

Mark when I buy a domin for PR reasons I do a backlink check and track the PR links then I also backtrack those links also to make sure they are solid and I can predict what will happen in the next PR toolbar update. But overall my main thing is to buy old old domains PR is easy but age it is what it is ;)

Hey man so get this. Recently my brother and I buy 6 domains on sitepoint - 3 pr3s and 3 0s, but they're aged and in the index.

Then this PR updage is happening and the 3s go to 1s. Oops! We're not concerned though because they're all indexed and aged and by next update we'll have them at PR 4/5 no problem.

Great tutorial man. Killing it as usual.

GoDaddy does give you the disclosure up to now not one of my domains has the owner re-register it but be aware that it does happen. Transfer usually is a few days if you go in your auction account you will actually see the transfer date.
