Branding Domains For Profit
By Vic on Dec 22, 2007 in Domains
One of the most profitable things today is to buy a domain, branded get some Alexa, Technorati a PR4 and cash the fuck out. Now the problem with most bloggers is they have no idea how to do this. Think about this let’s look at two blogs to see how profitable this can be.Cashquest dot com sold for 15k and OneMansGoal dot com sold for 8.5k now think about this both sites had about 5 months so if you add both of them you are looking at 23.5k in 5 months so if you replicated this again in the year you are looking at a gross income of about 50k, this is shit money in our economy but for a job that you do from how and really have no huge cost it is good money, but the most important thing is you now have money to really invest in your online business and now have an opportunity to really make some money.
Now the funny thing is that it is actually way easier then most people think. CashQuest had some ok content but OneMansGoal was truly worthless so what determined the actual selling factor where three things that are way to fucking easy to game. Alexa, Technorati and Page Rank.
Alexa: Alexa is the easiest to game. Write an article on how to fake Alexa and when you are promoting your site try to tag the hell out of that post with BookMarkingDemon the second is go to geek forums. Anything related to Alexa, internet, seo, black hat, etc etc Now this is the key. It has to be a forum that let’s you put your website on your signature. You go on the forum and find a post that almost everybody agrees on the subject. Now you will make a comment and totally disagree with the majority and do everything possible to piss them off. Guess what will happen? All of the people coming to that topic will click on your sites URL to see who is this asshole and most if not all will have the Alexa tool bar installed. Remember all you need is to work this a few times in the begging and the last month multiple times before you actually try to sell the website so when they look at your Alexa it will look that you have awesome traffic.
Technorati: For Technorati I have found that it is extremely easy to build a great Technorati for tech sites the reason goes to use scrapers as part of your promotion effort. Content scrapers only scrape info they can use anything related to gadgets like cellphones, computers etc etc will get scraped like a bitch if you used my techniques on Scrapers Are My Best Friends you will get huge back links they will be worth less for PR but invaluable for Technorati. You will write an article on gadgets and try to use names like apple and ipod etc etc etc this post you will see will get scraped and scraped and scraped again it never fails. Now before you do this you have to make sure you have already submitted your blog to feed directories a lot of scrape bots start at feed burner and the rest.
Page Rank: Page rank is also easy as remember you are not really looking to built traffic all you want is a nice tool bar number so you do not have to work keyword rich back links all you need is to have 4 or 5 PR4 links and you should be solid PR4 on tool bar now be clear you will not be ranked for shit but again you will have a really nice number on the tool bar. In order to find a good dofollow website go to Courts site and click on D-List now let me be clear do not go and spam some ones comments on a blog on that list, leave a real productive comment. Now from day one again tag the shit out of the website with BookMarkingDemon
Of course you will be posting in the process and there is one more thing you will need which I will tell you right now, I have no idea how to get people to subscribe which is Feed Burner. For what ever reason people either like your website or they do not and if they do they subscribe contest can help but at the end of the day I just have no answers on that one there. I do know that if you interact a lot with your readers this seems to increase your feed count. On this one you are on your own.

I do disagree with you here, at least as far as blogs go. I’m not sure if any others have sold after those two for anything substantial.
I have looked at both of those blogs after their sale and I keep saying to myself “I bet the buyers are really regretting it”. CashQuests is now useless and dead as far as I can see.
I don’t think you will see any other blogs selling for anything worthwhile as it has become apparent that a blog carries the personality of the owner. I think you could spend months of hard work on this blog and sell it and the minute you did that everyone would leave. I know I would.
So, I don’t think you could get much for it unless you find a dumb ass sucker.
Hmmm, do we go to DayJobNuker’s website to see what he is all about because he is disagreeing with Vic? Nah, that won’t work because we don’t have the Alexa toolbar installed!
Bruce I have no doubt that both of the suckers have to be seriously regretting that. But Bruce you have to play on human nature. Bruce a sucker is born every day. You know how many times I have seen or I have sold a website on ebay for 4k or 5k that in reality is fucking worthless but the person that is buying it has no idea what wordpress and a nice 49.99 theme does. Trust me Bruce a sucker is born every day. Yesterday a domain sold at GoDaddy for 12k and the fucker is blacklisted for spamming, so in reality a sucker just paid 12k to get a shaft up his ass.
Bruce on a side note. Remember what is obvious to you is not for a noob. Again this is how people end up paying 15 for a PR4 in sandbox
How do you avoid buying a PR4 domain in a sandbox?
I just bought a PR4 domain in the Godaddy auction, and I think you are describing me…:)
No if you buy it with more then 18 months you should good both cashquest and onemansgoal where only 5 months old so by definition both where either in sandbox or on their way to the box.
Bruce to prove my point. Go to Godady auctions ebayna.com is up to $11,000 with 14 bids and it still has 32 days left. This is just a domain that has no Page Rank and in reality is fucking worthless. Again a sucker is born every minute. You made your assumption based on Site Point, the fact is there are over 50 different sites that sell more domains and websites then Site Point. As a matter of fact I have never sold anything on site point and probably never will, I want to sell my sites and domains at places where the suckers are at.
Vic,
I was going to ask if you provide an RSS feed for your niche blogs. Apparently you do and you use Feedburner for this.
Are you worried that since Feedburner is owned by Google, that Google may connect the dots between all of the blogs on your Feedburner account, in case they catch you doing something BH or gray hat?
Do you only use one Feedburner account?
Thanks!
-Marshall
Marshall lol there is a specific reason you do not see me show any of my sites here as you will never see Court show all his sites either. And please same for all you here talk about how things are going but do not post your url. Keep your niche sites private again I will not discuss why but folks come on by now you should know.
Vic,
You mentioned in an above comment that a domain sold on GoDaddy for 12k that is blacklisted. I have been meaning to ask you how you can tell a domain is blacklisted. We certainly don’t want to buy a blacklisted domain.
What is the trick to check to see if a domain is blacklisted?
-Marshall
Marshall if the domain is not index there something wrong. Do a search of the domain with out the http:// and you will see if any blacklist has it on or if there is a link farm attached to it. But the main thing should be if it is not indexed their is something wrong.
Hi Vic,
When is the next PR update? How can we be sure the PR we bought today will not be bitch slap by Google in the next update?
Oh, I am also interested in knowing if a domain is blacklisted or in the sandbox.
Their is nothing sure in life and this applies to PR. Now if you do a good research on the domain you have some better looks at what will the next PR will look like. Remember PR is live thing and it updates continually. So make sure you back track the links and try to find relevant PR links in other words if the domains is a PR4 try to find a few PR4 links back and they are solid. Number two the first thing you should do after you buy the domain is go on a link run try to let Google know quickly that this is an active domain and it still has authority.
I use http://www.domain-pop.com/ to check for backlinks for my 2 new domain that is not transferred to me yet. This site report no backlink for both of them.
Guess I am a dumb fuck for buying these two worthless site. Haizz….
Listen to me do not freak out some of these tools suck, try https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ and tell me how it came out. Also what PR are the domains?
Hi Vic,
I cannot use the siteexplorer as I have not recieved the domain yet from Godaddy.
One is a PR4 and One is a PR5.
Ok there are two options the top one you can do a search on any domain you do not need to own it. The one on the top you just put a domain and hit enter.
As soon as you take ownership do a link run asap so G knows you are still an active website. Important that you do all this before you buy the domain. I always do good link search to find the one that gave it’s PR. Good luck buddy.
Is a link run about going around getting links from PR blogs like submitting articles to articles directory?
I think index of terms used by internet marketers can be a good category for your forum. SEO phrases like link run, Google sandbox, etc. Some of these terms are only use within a niche and not known to the general public.
Oh and before I forget:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
Oops, I just found out I don’t need to add to “MySite” to use the services.
The PR5 site : URL not found
The PR4 site : 1 result found; its the main website
want to share a tip. Not sure if anyone know this but even auction domains can use the Godaddy codes.
The PR4 domain I bought yesterday, I use “gdbb776″ to get $2 off .NET domains.
If your domain is a .COM then you got to find another code yourself.
Nice find - I was looking everywhere for a working GoDaddy code but nothing I found would work!
Terry
I just use the same code yesterday on a .COM at the auction. It works! Now confirm work on both .COM and .NET
Thanks for the real good code. Awesome
Oh, nice work on the forum and the even 500 subscribers.
I will try to think of some topics for the forum that I think will be useful to me.
LMAO yeah had not notice what are the odds yesterday 499 and today an even 500 LMAO. Thanks again as for the forums yeah please folk come up with some categories.
