Hey Vic,

Finding your website was one of the best professional things that happened in my online career. Anyway, I have a couple of questions:
1. When you do an article submission run, how many article directories do you submit to?
2. How often would you do article submissions for a website that you just started promoting?
3. This is the most important question for me: In an article submission run, do you submit exactly the same article to all the directories? Do you spin it a bit every 5-10 article directories or so?
4. Do you talk to new people that share the same interests with you on instant messenger? If so, how can one get a hold of you on Skype, Gchat, Msn, Yahoo Messenger or whatever?

Ditto — More on automated article submission.

On misspelling, on the content generator I’m workign on I’m inclduding a mispelling engine I’ve nicknamed the ‘Victionary’.

Oh, and check out the most recent post on the Blogger test site I emailed you earlier to see how this program is evolving.

I have Directory Submitter somewhere in my mess of tools. Now to go and find it.

I have not heard anyone mention directory submissions for a long time. I had no idea it still had value.

A link has value. If Google counts it then it has value no matter how crappy it is.

I notice when I do my SEO Elite run on my sites that most of my links are counted from All The Web and Yahoo. There are usually only a couple from Google.

Is there a certain way to get more Google links or are they all counted. Since we want Google links how do we target to get those links?

Denise, SEO Elite doesn’t show the Google links because Google itself doesn’t show them. The command in SEO Elite is the equivalent of the “link:www.yoursite.com” command of the search engines.Google shows only a bunch of them (approximately 2-3%), while Yahoo shows almost all of them. Now, this doesn’t mean that Google didn’t pick them up, because usually what Yahoo picks up is also picked up by Google. If you want to see a comprehensive list of your links, use Yahoo. Google also shows them all in Google Webmaster Tools.

Hey Vic,

Just thought I would mention an interesting development when targeting misspelled keywords. If you misspell the word more than once per post it appears G now treats the post as spam. This isn’t always the case 100% of the time. (don’t know why) However, I have found that using a misspelled word only once always gets me listed for it.

Vic,
Entrecard traffic is useless BUT for me it helps by keeping the BlogCatalog and MyBlogLog visitors pictures moving through on the widgets. I am only posting maybe 5 times a month now and I don’t want those widgets to be static because then it looks like the blog is dead. I don’t care one bit how long they stay because I am trying to get more search traffic instead of readers.

BTW, I am willing to sell my domain for the prices thrown out by Vic in this video, in fact I will sell for 1/10 that amount. LOL

So, I’m a little shocked because I just went to check the price on directory submitter and saw that it was free. Yes, FREE. I don’t know if I was just the lucky millionth customer, or if Brad Callen is just doing it to build his list for Keyword Elite and SEO Elite. Whatever it is, I actually have it downloaded and installed.

I thought it was going to cost around the same as the other tools Vic has linked, but wow! And to CYA from any comments that I grabbed the wrong product, I just clicked the link Vic has on this post.

  Haha. I shouldn’t have been so quick on the submit button. Apparently, Directory Submitter and Article Submitter both have a “standard” edition which is free. Still, pretty cool that I can use a basic tool until I upgrade.

This may not be directly related to your video post but my internet is too slow for me to watch it through my router.

Is it possible to get indexed without doing anything but post content? It shows you my site in this thing and you can check it out. I have no outgoing or incoming links to my knowledge. No article submission, no technorati, nata.

Dude, I’m freakin out man.

Well not really but if you have some incite on to how this might have happened I would really like to hear it.

If you are running the directory submitter do you set up a site just for the reciprocal links, or do you actually place them on your site?

Also, I downloaded SEO Elite and love it, but I do not like the article submitter that is part of SEO Elite, I like the free article submitter because it seems to set up accounts easier. But, SEO Elite is worth every penny!!!

I’ve started buying aged domains as you suggest. Just bought one that would make a very nice local niche for someone in that particular California town … but I’m not in that town, I’m in Israel! It was too good to miss though; PR3, and almost four years old, for $5.

Let’s call it http://www.omahaguide.com (although that’s not the name … it’s a different smallish city).

Not sure how best to build it up. Not BANS, obviously, and it’s really too general for AdSense … CTR would be low.

I think it will grow best if I open it up to allow people to post business details, recommendations, reviews, etc. Although I’m not completely “non-techy”, I’m certainly not capable of coding anything interactive like this from scratch.

Any leads on a free directory/portal type software that I could set up? Ideally a plug-in for Wordpress, since I know WP very well.

Appreciate all the advice and butt-kicking; you’re a terrific help.

  I haven’t found anything for WP that works like a yellow pages type directory. I’ve seen WP link directory plug-ins and a classified plugin, too. But there are some non-free, non-WP type directory software, like PHPmydirectory.com, which I’m considering playing with, if I can find a good way to mesh it with WP.

      Has anyone tried “eSyndicat”? I think you can use it for free with limited functionality and some nag-links.
      
      I just checked the price for an unlimited license - $499. Ouch, if you’re going to do a lot of them.
      
      $75 for a single domain license is not so bad …

Vic - in response to your Make Money With Adsense Post: My site gets about 300-500 hits via Google Search. I had a mix of Adsense and affiliate ads. Long story short, most people clicked on the affiliate ads but never bought anything. After watching your video, I took your advice and used only Adsense ads. Wow! My Adsense earning are around $75 - $100 per day where before I was making around $5 - $10 per day. Thanks! Your video was right on.
