Hey, you surely looked so happy with this eBay change. Good for you! I’m green with envy, because I got rejected and they didn’t even tell me why. I hope they’ll answer my inquiry, but I have a feeling that’s related to my country. When they were with CJ, they automatically rejected everybody from Romania. Now, although the country was on the list, still the answer was no. Too bad, because I see the potential that BANS has. Moreover, I have a free links directory and I approve every day maybe 50 BANS sites, and I’m dying that I cannot make my own ones.

As of Yaro, I also think he’s a scammer. I don’t know what his paid program contains, but every now and then I receive some “newsletters” full of bullshit one can actually read all over the place.

Simonne, we are on the same boat exactly. :(

      1. Simonne on 01.04.2008 at 22:11 (Reply)

Well Paul, since Amazon sucks, we can always make more AdSense sites. If I get an answer from eBay, I’ll let you know if I had any success.

    2. Vic on 02.04.2008 at 01:02 (Reply)

You will see this will get sorted out and all of you will have a sweet network of BANS sites ;)

  3. Paul on 01.04.2008 at 22:18 (Reply)

We are also co-nationals you know. Maybe we could chat via IM? I don’t know too many people to talk about this stuff with around here.

    1. JohnB on 01.04.2008 at 22:24 (Reply)

      Haha…What a coincidence.3 from the same country..What are the odds? :)

Well good blogs gather good people. ;)

Do you host your websites on your own server? Or, do you use a Hosting company? The reason is 300 websites with Hosting has to get expensive, so you r cheap and don’t like paying for services, so I thought you might host yourself!

    1. JohnB on 01.04.2008 at 22:53 (Reply)

Well I think you can go to prouddomains.com and buy a domain and they offer free Hosting for it.After you start producing some $$ from that domain, you can switch to a paid Hosting plan.

      1. Vic on 02.04.2008 at 01:03 (Reply)

To my knowledge the free Hosting has banners right?

    2. Vic on 02.04.2008 at 01:02 (Reply)

Reseller account with Host Gator and you can host unlimited sites ;)

    Funny video!

    Few questions:
What’s Justin blog link you talked about? Is it blendworx.com or another one?

I’m using Bookdemon and my scuttle list is about 60 sites. I had more but many were bad url or blogs(200+). On my first run I got about 30 that rejected my links. Is it normal because I used a multiple logins just in case but 1 email.

I was up very very early(4am) this morning but eBay wast still sleeping. The page did not work. I finally was able to register(new) but did not get an ID yet. :( I hope they are fast.

Is hostgator fast when replying? I asked a few questions this morning about the reseller account but no reply yet. I have my first potential BANS/domain in mind. :D

For the IP, is a different C-Class/IP give more weight than the same IP? I would think so.

Btw, I bought my first pre owned domain. It’s a .net created 18-feb-2003(PR0). It’s still park.

Warning: I will get my second(1 year) in a few days thinking it was a PR4. It’s seemed to be a fake when I checked with a few tools after I won. No matter because the keyword in the name could be use for a BANS(sports). I paid $10. I know why now.

    1. Vic on 02.04.2008 at 01:05 (Reply)

Holy crap I will have to make a video just to comment on your comment LMAO but sweet questions tomorrow morning check the comment video ;)

Watch Vic’s videos or get links? Watch the videos or get links? Hmmm….seems like I end up watching the videos because they are sure more fun than getting links.

    1. Vic on 02.04.2008 at 01:08 (Reply)

LMAO Holy crap what came first the chicken or the egg LMAO. But this one is an easy one.

Link or Vic? Link all day long ;)

But Bruce shit we really need some one to come up with better auto-software to get links for us ;)

      1. Steve McGrath on 02.04.2008 at 01:50 (Reply)

I was thinking about that last week.

The problem is that we don’t have a basic category model.

I’m using Robosoft(semi-auto submissions) to do the same thing with software directories(my freeware). The categories are common by default(standard). It has even more information than a site but we have a PAD file to help us out. For example, I can do 300(50%) in automatic, the rest either bug out because the site change something or we have to input a capcha(semi-part). Some are shown right away but others may take some time or need a reciprocal link. Each software directory like 1 Cool File has a “driver” to input the information. I have to pay for the database when I need an update. It’s $8/month or less if I take more months.

Plus, each direcotry can be filtered because some a shareware only, English only, Reciprocal link, Pay only…So, I have access to 1100 but I can only use about 600.

        The solution:

Ideally, a software company could offer a free directory script. Site owners would then buy the software(one time payment because you like that Vic ;) ) to submit the information for us in a small batch of 10-30/day(random) for natural growth.

Imagine the potential. 1130 readers each owning a directory site. Link nirvana and VideoVic would be happy. :D

We should ask the Directory Submitter guys to do something.

    Vic,

Do you have any suggestions for using 1 BANS store to sell from multiple ebay programs? I may have missed this functionality as I went through the videos and tutorials for ebay today, with everything still so new. It seems we now have excellent analytics, multiple programs to choose from, and a ton of new possibilites that did not exist yesterday.

I have a squidoo lens with good organic traffic that actually monitizes at about $50 a month through Amazon even with their poor conversion rate.

Here is my challenge, I was set up only through Amazon US even though nearly 60% of my traffic most recently has been from outside the US. Generally, the traffic is evenly divided from the UK, France, Germany, India and Australia. The products offered in each market are slightly different than the rest of the world…and that difference is important to collectors. A more global approach seems a better option here, and more than likely a lot more money that I have currently been making.

I’ve emailed the BANS people, to ask about the functionality of being able to pull from the feeds of multiple ebay programs. I can see the possibilities for some niches.

BTW everyone, I used to sell dvds on ebay until about 2 years ago. 50% of my sales were shipped overseas. There is a huge market for people buying and selling outside their home country, and the cost of overseas shipping does not appear to be an issue. The main reason for the trend in my sales was that it was cheaper to buy here with the weak dollar than they could buy the same product for in their currency.

I’m already looking at the compensation programs in other countries programs and trying to figure out how to go about adding selected sites for those with a good exchange rate relative to the weak dollar.

Like Vic has said repeatedly, your business is like an investment portfolio… diversify. You may have been talking about monitization models and multiple streams of income, but I wouldn’t mind figuring out how to add a little extra return just like a forex trader would.

LMAO, global BMD, article, and directory software anyone?

Good luck all. Vic is right this is a very good day!

    Vic,
I got approved for eBay affiliate, but for the life of me cannot figure out where you find your affiliate ID.

Maybe I should watch the video.

    1. Steve McGrath on 02.04.2008 at 01:53 (Reply)

Are you a new member or did have an affiliate ID from CJ? I just want to gage how long I would have to wait. I’m brand new ;)

    2. YC on 02.04.2008 at 02:10 (Reply)

Denise are you using BANS? If so, the new update packages should mention something about it. I just d/l it and will be going through them.

      1. Denise on 02.04.2008 at 02:17 (Reply)

        YC,

No I don’t have BANS YET!

  12. Denise on 02.04.2008 at 02:04 (Reply)

I did have a CJ affiliate ID.

  13. YC on 02.04.2008 at 04:02 (Reply)

Denise, when you get BANS it would explain in the manual. Very easy actually. You would need to create Campaigns in your ebay affiliate account for each of your BANS sites. The campaign id/number will be the id that you plug into BANS for each site. Hope that helps.

  14. Justin B on 02.04.2008 at 06:37 (Reply)

After a few days of consideration Vic, I put up the money and got BANS. =)

Will keep you guys updated on how it goes.

    1. Justin B on 02.04.2008 at 09:47 (Reply)

god damn, I know why you suggest Host Gator now

      If you use Dream Host:
You must change it to PHP 4, and not PHP 5 when you set up your domain.

Then, you need to go to your setup page of your BANS, scroll to bottom, and change SWITCH to CURL.

Also, I had issues because I was uploading my files from a Mac, and since the .htacess they provide is hidden (this frustrates the hell out of my on my Mac), I didn’t upload it.

Hopefully my 30 mins of forum digging will help someone else.

So far, the BANS seems legit. They have a fairly solid forum for help. Set up was simple (except for the DreamHost/Mac specific problems… if you use Host Gator + Windows, it should be EASY)

I can already see how this has potential to make LOTS of money.

  15. Woodshed on 02.04.2008 at 07:11 (Reply)

I can tell you’re as excited about the new eBay as I am. The interface is so much better than CJ. And I’m sure the tracking will be too.

Full credit to the BANS guys, too. The update was so easy. I started updating my sites when I woke up and I was done by breakfast time.

“If you’re 14, you shouldn’t be visiting my fuckin’ site.” LMAO.

  16. Rhonda Holland on 04.04.2008 at 05:32 (Reply)

Your videos crack me up, I am so glad I found this blog.

My question is… Do you use a reseller Hosting account or just do add on domains.

Sorry if you have that answered in another video, I have watched quite a few since I came across your site but haven’t heard you address it yet.

    Thanks,
    Rhonda
