I really do not have to prove it, John Chow makes it easy for me to have his own work prove that this guy is beyond full of shit. And the sad part is that he knows in the process he is hurting people and only the lord knows to what extent.
Imagine some one that just lost his job and has a grand total of $800.00 in the bank now he is researching to find out how to make money online. He comes upon John Chow and starts reading his blog. Now let me show you his last 2 weeks post in his Make Money Online category.
GM Voltcom Making Money By Blogging About Your Passion: Post by guest blogger, that all is really doing is making a plug for his own site.
Google Wants To Show You More Ads: written by John Chow, really small post doing what he does normally which is bashing Adsense. Now why does he bash Adsense because he has to convince his readers to use text links so he get more cash. But yet the asshole is constantly using Adwords to promote his site mmmm do you see the irony in that. But yet his readers are just so fucking clueless that they do not ask themselves that same question.
Make Money Online with YouTube: written by John Chow, another Google bash on how evil they are and now denouncing on how they are circumventing the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to profit from the user videos. Now again what is really behind all this is that he needs to keep people focused on the shit he peddles to keep making money.
The Art of The Ramp: written by John Chow, this post just floored me. The basic thing behind this post is that you need something to get you to that next level just like he used (SPAMMED) Digg as a “RAMP” but since he got banned for life from Digg and now people do not have the chance he had they need to buy a review from him for $400.00 and this will be the “RAMP” they need. PLEASE JUST GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE WITH THAT BULLSHIT!!
Find a Job and Make Money with IPSOJOBS: written by John Chow paid review what else can you say.
Adii Premium News Theme Christmas Special: written by John Chow affiliate so he is pitching something he makes money.
Now remember this is the guy who pitched Agloco and to be more fucked up he already had promoted this same scheme before and he new this would not work. “Before AllAdvantage died with the dot com crash, I signed up over 10,000 people and made over $25,000″ but yet he writes this throwing the hook with the worm shit, what a fucking prick.
Now let’s see how much of a self centered bitch John Chow really is. Go to his About John Chow page. Read the shit he writes and on the bottom you will read “The above is a joke. Please don’t take it seriously.” Is this really a joke or does this fucker really thing he is a Dot Com Mogul with his shit 27k a month income. He wrote an article called “How To Build Your Blog Credibilty” now in this post he talks about how many people where asking him to take pictures with him at the “2007 BlogWorld Expo” now I have to quote this “While I’m sure most just wanted a picture with someone who is well know in the blog world, some will use the photo to boost their credibility.” Now folks I look forward to the 2008 BlogWorld Expo as Court and me will hopefully be there and we will get a chance to meet many of you BZ users. Now if I come back and write something like this asshole wrote PLEASE JUST FIND MY ASS AND FUCKING SHOOT ME!!!!. You have to be one arrogant fuck to really think that because you make 27k a month this makes you give others credibility to be seen with you.
Now let’s go back to the guy with the $800.00 and follows John Chows advice. He gets his site and gets the plugins he suggest buys adwords to promote his site like John Chow suggest and now it has been 6 months and guess what he has not made more than 10 bucks a month, he may have a bit of traffic and has maybe $400.00 left, so he reads this weeks post and says you know what maybe I am doing this wrong and I need to follow John Chow’s advice and let me buy a review for $400.00 to get that Ramp. Three months later you go to his site and the domain is parked. But since a sucker is born every day there is already another one in line to be scammed again.

@Vic - I am not going to deny the fact when I first researched blogging about money John Chow was one of the first sites I read because of his “impressive” income stats. I was pulled in hook line and sinker. I read his “free ebook” with all his fucking affiliate ads embedded. I signed up for a few of the ones he suggested and I put them up on my blog.
Now, after doing more and more research and continuing to read his blog I realized the same thing you did - every single post he writes is self-centered and only will make him more money.
There are many people who are/were in my position a few months ago. Its just like anything else - I can do this shit, I can put up a blog with all kinds of affiliates and make that kind of money.
What a crock of shit - I will never make that kind of money with my make money online blog - at the very best I could probably make in the 1-3k range after about 2 years of hard as work. Not that I am apposed to hard work - I just don’t want to have to wait that long to see any kind of results.
Thank God I found your blog - you opened my eyes to many things and I look forward to learning from you - shit, I learned more in 2 days from you than I did from John Chow in 3 months.
It is all in the niche I really wish I had more time to keep posting. But with all me and Court have it is just insane. I will do my best to focus on right now result stuff.

Shamim I remember when I was waiting in Tampa for the company that owed me 12k for two months of work did not pay me and I had $800.00 left, I put myself in the position If I was the one that used the small amount of cash to make a living from the internet and I was being fed all this false dreams with the sports car header.
If I made even close to 27k a month online, I wouldn’t even go to those things and care what people think about me.
I’d be retired in Sasalito, California sipping beverages from the little Italian cafe by the water and posting blogs and not giving a crap.

Mike in by the end of 2002 I had made almost 300k after my nervous breakdown between taxes and my health bills we lost it all. I started to get back on my feet and last year it got so bad I had to live in my car for two weeks and spend days with out eating because I had no food and felt to proud to go to a food shelter.
Today I know that they guy who has money number one does not talk about it and number two he gets up and the first thing he thinks about is not about money.

I’m in the same boat in that after reading John Chow for several months, I finally noticed the promoting, selling the ads, getting readers to sign up under him for various affiliate offers, etc. I unsubscribed two weeks ago.
I did take advantage of his audience and did a guest post about a month or two ago.

He is a huckster. I’ve known several over the years. They’re always entertaining and friendly, at least on the surface, because they’re always trying to sell you something. To me, it’s always interesting to see a good salesman/conman at work because I suck so bad at selling.
In a way, Chow reminds me a lot of folks I knew who were successful at Amway or A.L. Williams I ran into a few times back in the 80’s. Lots of money coming in from suckers who drank the Kool-Aid and paid for advice from the guru who would help them make a breakthrough to riches and quit their day job. In the end, when things fell apart or times changed, the guru had the cash and those who bought into it hook, line and sinker often had broken lives.
OMG Frank please you have to write a post about that. You are so right Amway was all about the dream building remember? This exactly that down to the car in the header. In Amway they would go in there dream building rides where they would go to the Cadillac dealership to visualize the car.

John Chow isn’t even in my reader and he never was. I also read his blog like twice when I first came online but smelt a rat soon enough after.
And Amway…boy do I know about the MLM sucking game too (not with Amway, but another well known MLM company)
It is all like a magical illusion. They spoon feed the sheep (bah..) dreams and we are stupid enough to throw caution into the wind. It is the same online with the various deceptive marketing methods some people apply.

Monika was so on the money with the Amway comparison, that is was scary. I just hope as many people that where hurt by the Amway thing not that many get hurt by this guy.

You did it again, Vic. This post is like a truckload of TNT. Sheer dynamite. Kudos to you for doing what some of us always suspect but never dare to write about it. When I first started blogging early last year, I read one of JC’s post condemning paid posts and he wrote he would never submit himself to it because “I will never sell my soul for a bag of rice.” But then, what happened? Later, ReviewMe paid posts and others were all over his blog. My take is this: if a person has a belief and stands on principle, then don’t be a turncoat. The sad thing is that there are so many blinker-eyed bloggers idolizing this guy like he could take them to the promised land.

I used to read John Chow’s blog, but never subscribed to it’s feed. If there’s one thing I don’t like about his blog, it’s that almost a quarter of my screen is filled with a Lamborghini what-so-ever and other shits like “Get my free ebook” and such…And if you look at his last post ( I know, you won’t, but just if you do:) you’ll see he says he is blogging for fun, he is doing business for fun ( with TTZ Media etc ).
Now, let’s be serious: all this fun won’t feed you and haven’t heard any real mogul saying he is doing business for fun. Don’t tell me Bill Gates or Donald Trump started their businesses just to “have some fun”. I’ve never believed all those hypes and never will.

Yep, he is a joke. Actually, is that kind of joke you hear it over and over and which, at the beginning is funny, but then, it fades out, once you hear it every time. And yes, people will get hurt, as it always happen when they try to “follow the guru”. My opinion is that everyone should act like they believe it’s good for them and not because he is driven by some “unseen guru powers”.
Now, let’s see when John Chow’s run will stop and who’ll be the one to take him down:P

We were at BlogWorld this past November and it was very, very interesting to see how the “A-Lister” bloggers carried themselves. JC and SM thought their you-know-what didn’t stink. And to watch all of the vendors/visitors clamor for a piece of them was mildly amusing.

Why?
Becuase 90% of people don’t get it when you offer them a good advice.
Then NEED to get burned and then they learn the lesson.
So John Chow maybe the best thing that happened to some people.
Your useful posts have no effect on most people until they get burned. That’s how it is in life.
So your bashing of John Chow maybe morally right, but you may be losing the sight of the big picture; people learn best through painful experiences and that’s why people like John Chow exist and serve their purpose.
So Tomaz based on your theory we also need Jim Jones and Hitler mmm ok stick with that one buddy.
Two things that you often mention on this blog:
- people are stupid
- take responsibility for your action
No one forces people to read John Chow’s blog. He is NOT responsible for his readers. He can do whatever he wants.
It’s people’s reactions to his blog that will make him successful or a loser.
Since so many people are so stupid, they will not get it even you nicely tell them NOT to follow his advice.
They are so stupid and so blinded by a “celebrity” that they will follow his advice UNTIL it really really hurts them.
Then they will (maybe) wake up.
IF they take 100% responsibility for their actions they will see that it was not John Chow that misled them, rather it was their own decision to listen to his advice.
That’s one of the best ways that nature deals with human stupidity and blindness.
