It’s nice that you are back, rested and took time with your family.
I knew that you were behind because my blog for the contest is not even setup. That’s my way of seeing if you making progress or not.
I figured you had more troubles that you expected since last week.
And for those that don’t get out much of the house like Vic and me, read my free ebook:
See free movies legally(and make money too)
I did that last Friday
I know LMAO some of you know where I am at with the lack of progress on your sites but hopefully will get all this shit turned around.
Welcome back. Glad you are refreshed!
Need it that
haha nothing like the wife to talk some sense into you. not that i would know
The wifes always know best trust me
I was able to drop my CPU usage on my shared usage by 10% by replacing the dynamic call functions for like the blog home url and blog title and shit like that with static typed in HTML. Or the the call for the CSS urls.
I was able to remove like 10+ calls per page or so. My big producing blog gets 20,000 page views per day and was slamming my shared host and with that many page views, the inefficiencies of WP start to show … big time.
Turning on cache plugins and bad behavior dropped me from 40% cpu to 30%. The simple theme changes reduced my php calls and dropped me from using 30% of my server’s CPU to 20%.
We have cut it down a lot we just need to get it consistently for reasons we are still chasing with out notice the cache pages just get cleared and that is when we get in trouble but we are getting close to finding the issue we might need to change theme.
Thank you very much Vic for helping us so much by having a contest just to get our feet wet! I am working overnight now from 9 to 7 it is very tiring and I don’t want to do this for the rest of my life. I am getting married in a year and a half and I want to be a full time internet marketer by the time I am married. Right now I am only making $5/month with internet marketing but I think if I put my mind to it I can do it.
Vic, I am in the same boat where I want to be with my family and not have to work overnight when I am married. Thats why I don’t want be a corporate guy like you say.
I can agree with you on the fact that you need to take a break every once in a while to clear your head… I have my local niche blog at The Buffalo Blog and I think it can be a good site but the problem is that I can’t get the excerpts for related posts to show up. Jason was trying to help me with advice on post per page, but does anyone run into this problem where for related posts the excerpts only say (…).
I am so happy you got to see your daughter a lot. I know a lot of people that work 14 hours a day where I work and I just can’t imagine them not knowing their kids when they are older…
I really want to do this full time but It’s hard because my fiance won’t let me do any work during “family time” which is 2 and a half days a week. She doesn’t even want me to set up a BMD run during family time. It’s not the fact that it only takes 2 seconds to set it and forget it, it’s just the principle of me doing business during “family time”. What the hell.
Anyways, I won’t be talking to you guys on the tv very much because I work overnight now but thats okay I’ll see you during the day.
Thanks you everyone for helping me try to make money online.
Matt
Heeeey Vic! Welcome back man. Vic, sometimes you just got to take a “me” day. I did the same thing last monday. I just up and went to the beach and did a 12 mile walk. Came back guns blazin’
Man it was so refeshing just to get away I still had the laptop and did some niche and comments but besides that was it so for me huge improvement LMAO!!!
Vic
It’s good to see you laughing despite all the problems you’ve been having - laughter will always pull you through, and from a real selfish point of view, we need you to pull through buddy.
Howdy Vic! I’ve been lurking for awhile here, and am almost relieved to see you disappear for a bit. I was beginning to wonder if you ever took a break… honestly, I was even a little hesitant to take steps along your path if it meant I had to work that damn hard all the time.
Now mind you, I’m not afraid of work. But I’m also not looking to replace my current j.o.b. with something that takes up just as much of my life, earning potential be damned. Like you, I’ve got a little 4-year-old at home (and recently discovered that another was on the way) who I enjoy spending time with more than I ever imagined. So I find myself more interested in finding those ways to quit trading my time so directly for dollars than in an ever larger cash payoff. It’s good to know it’s not all about the almighty dollar!
Sean all ti is we want to move out of here ASAP so we have been working really hard to payoff all my medical debt and enough cash to buy our house cash in the states but I still need to learn to make the time for what is important.
Glad you got some time to yourself. Sometimes we just need to cool our heels and take a deep breath, and it is good that you gave yourself that luxury! Looking forward to learning more now that you are back!
Tell you what man just the fact of taking the pressure of my shoulders of the timeline was huge but mm now it is back on LMAO!!!!
Good for you Vic! I’m glad you were able to take some time off with your family. I am in need of a break myself and I’m looking forward to it.
We all need just to step back and take a breather once in a while
LOL I sent you a really long post it was probably to crazy for you to take. Anyways the short version is this - I always need to step away from the computer every once in a while when I am building links and writing articles. It helps sometimes to take the laptop outside and work, as long as my connection is strong. But by looking at your videos of your office, It looks like it can get a little crazy being there for hours on end.
So thanks for making the contest available for us, you are unlike any other person out there, and certainly a breath of fresh air for blogging. Remember to do something for yourself every once in a while.
So glad to see you smiling and laughing again! We have all been working hard while you’ve been away.
Diane this is exactly what y wife said. SHe mentioned to me the past week or so I was not laughing and seemed grouchy all the time. It is amazing how we sometimes let ourselves get taken way to seriously at the end of the day I love what I do and need to remember why I love it and one of those reasons is because it is fun
I love this video, Vic! The laughter is the best part.
