Adsense Geo Targeting
By Vic on Mar 23, 2008 in Adsense
Geotargeting is based on the IP address of your users. So, say one page of your site is about Spain, and a user from Japan is viewing it. That user will see AdWords ads targeted to 1) a Japanese audience and 2) the text based content of the site. The advertiser chooses which countries they would like to target. A user in Canada might see a different set of ads. Now this was a broad example but the most common and profitable is local cities in the US.

Geo Targeting is more difficult to find. Is it more difficult to get page one on Google with Geo targets?
Geo targeting sounds like the only way to go. Guess I’ll really have to put my thinking cap on for this.
On statcounter, I have noticed one of my blogspot movie blogs ranking higher on the first page of foreign google regions than on North American google regions. And that is without conscious targeting. Huh…
Thanks Vic. This was a perfect explanation. You have given me a new idea for a niche blog. You are the best!
My pleasure buddy
